Plea for help

I'd expect someone to take my kids if they were not cared for. So, if you come to my house and find bugs on my dishes and find me mooching off the system, you have my permission to find my kids a suitable home.

We're already doing that with pets. When we start doing it with people's children, and can't find them suitable homes in a reasonable amount of time, do we put them down?

But wait, there's more...

No, silly! We put them in cages for people to gawk at and look at pictures of them on the internet to choose their next "forever" kiddo ... or until they decide they need to put a pool in the back yard, and get rid of the "forever kid" to make room for more important things.

:sarcasm:

Seriously, though, I was thinking about that last night as well ... how we have better programs/criteria in place for fostering/adopting pets than we do humans. Sad! I'm an animal lover as much as the next person (but not that kind of love :nono:) and I'm glad there are programs in place, but they clearly are not enough ... just like the programs we have in place for humans are not enough. :ohwell:

I need some things for my new home. I just moved outa my tent camper and now I need some home furnishings.

1) a nice used 50 inch tv
2) surround sound
3) a bed for my daughters room
4) some curtains
5) oh screw it you get the point I need everthing

Congrats on getting out of the camper  I see you are moving up!

Seriously, beds are expensive. I just threw out one. I'll ask around for you though. I had a couple of old tv's in the attic.
I have some cutains too, but there aren't the prettist things.

But wait ...

What about all that church money and the government! :jameo: And who's going to pay for it, administer it, who's going to do the "inspections" to make sure the IUD is still in place? :jameo: Do you realize what a hypocrite you sound like? While I'm in agreement for sterilizing the entire population at the onset of puberty until they can demonstrate the maturity to procreate, mandatory birth control is FAR more personal and "invasive" to one's reproductive capability and imposing of their personal/religious beliefs than my original proposal to simply deny benefits to those who don't get a "parenting license", and it would initiate a much larger public outcry -- especially from churches/churchgoers! But what's funny is the outcome even as you typed it above is the same. So I fail to see your problem with my suggestion. The end result is "those who don't comply (regardless of the method) are denied benefits." My proposal doesn't tell folks that they CAN'T have kids; it only says they can't get public assistance if they don't obtain the necessary "gov't" approval first. Your way is forcing people to NOT have kids at all. At least I'm leaving the door open for those who still don't want to play by the rules but want to have kids anyway.

Since the benefits in question are government-provided via taxpayers, I believe the government has a right to impose a set of criteria for people wanting to use that money. The church isn't the one regulating/overseeing welfare. You apply for college assistance, and to be approved, you must meet certain criteria. To apply for a loan from the bank, you must meet certain criteria, or you don't get the money. Hell, you have to meet certain criteria to move into some neighborhoods ... I'm talking about probably the most important "investment" into our future, and there is NO criteria established ... just go out, screw, make babies, and if you wake up one day and decide this parenting gig is too much for you, or you have a stronger urge to become a crack whore, no sweat! Just toss the kid off at your sister's place and she'll play on her community's sympathies to solicit donations to take care of your problem.

Yes, my money says "In God We Trust" and I have no problem with those words appearing on my money, in my courts, in my government buildings, or in my daughter's classroom. But "God" (Church) isn't the one regulating public assistance. The government is, and so long as they do and we're paying for it, I believe they (we) have the right to establish a set of criteria to deter system abuse and help ensure every penny of our money is spent on helping legitimate families in need. Just like banks establish their criteria for loaning money; colleges determine their criteria for who gets assistance and admitted; and neighborhoods have criteria for who can live in those areas.

You are one stupid #######. If you had read and understood any of her posts you would see what she is talking about.

You are insane if for one moment you think people will allow this to happen. It is quite clear you are not willing to listen to others and feel the need to force your bull #### down peoples throats without anything to back up what you are saying.

You are also clearly uneducated so trying to talk to you is like trying to talk to a wall.

It is a scary thing knowing dumbasses like you are among the people I live with. you have so much to learn.

So the only thing you can do is send red karma? :killingme ohh I am so scared.

Well, that's going to go over like a fart in church.

Yea I know but I am sorry I could not help it. I have tried and tried to ignore their stupid rantings but that was the final straw for me.

I am against the abuse of the welfare system and any system for that matter. But like NIS stated several times trying to have a license to have a baby just will not work.

You are going to be dealing with people that are not on the system who may never need to go on the system so why should they be subjected to that?

What about the people who have great jobs, great everything and feel they do not need to worry about going to get help from welfare.
Said couple has a baby, something happens and they need help. Do they not get help because they did not see that far into the future?

This is an effort that will be impossible to maintain and it reeks of violations on so many levels.

If you want people to stop abusing the system, we know who they are do something directly to them. There are many people out there that do need to use the system and are good and hardworking people.

Not to steal NIS words but do not punish all for the stupid actions of a few.

Well, I just think that people should have to pass some sort of test and get a parenting license before having children.

Hey I am with you about people being better educated before they become parents and there are alot of resources out there if people really want to do something to better themselves.

I know before I had my first child I read every book out there but then when she arrived the best thing for both her and I ended up being common sense.

There are many people out there having kids, who really should not be parents. But if we try to start telling people who can have kids and who cannot it will be total choas.

If these people who are having kids and are abusing the welfare system give them a deadline a limit on the time they can stay on.

Give them a job and if they do not work then they lose their benefits. Companies can submit positions to the system like they do for unemployment.

I am not sure how to deter them from having more babies but I am sure there is something other than what he is suggesting is out there.

he can suggest that all he wants but to actually have it passed and work is another thing all together.

What do you suggest to prevent people like this from having children? FOXNews.com - Man Charged With Raping Daughters, Using Electric Dog Collars to Enforce Obedience - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News

Hi wenchy. I wish I had all the answers. I don't. Like I said in my other posts there are people out there having babies that in no way should be parents. I use that term loosely.

But I will say this, for those sick #######s like this, the punishment should fit the crime. It makes me sick to my stomach to see stories about abuse like this. I was a victim of abuse as a child and as much as I think I am over it sometimes you realize you are never over it.
