Power with Control
Said lazy people who want to sleep in on Sunday mornings....And yes, a huge cop out.
And by people who get up and get stuff done on Sundays also.

I as thinking more along the lines of the principles of submission.
And yet you yourself have not truly submitted to God's will because it's outside your realm of possibility that He might be okay with atheists. Because *you're* not okay with it, you think God must not be either. And thinking for God is probably a sin. In fact I think I read that somewhere...
The only thing Christians should be saying about this recent papal development is "Thy will be done." Because ol' God's gonna do what He wants, whether you like it or not. My great-grandmother told me that when I was a little child.
PS, God probably isn't going to do what the Pope says, either.
What kind of stuff? Golf? Go fishing? Sleep in and read the paper? Watch five hours of pre-NFL?
Don't try to figure God out on your schedule, just try to figure Him in, and your schedule will adjust accordingly.
No, more likely doing stuff around the house, this weekend working with the kids on changing out the vanity in the downstairs bath, then some work helping the boy do an engine swap on his first ride, so it's ready for him before he gets his licence to solo.
I dont go worship at a place at a time. If there is a God, and he wants to see what I'm doing and what I think about and how I act, being all-knowing, he can do that anytime. If he wants to know if I appreciate his works, he can see that in my mind when I kayak, or walk through the woods, or ride my motorcycle past the farm fields, or stare up at the stars walking my dog at night, if he wants to know how I treat my fellow man, he does, just by being all knowing, correct? He has infinite capacity for knowing, and all of time, right? Why should I presume he's going to meet my schedule of worship?
I do my best to live my life in a good way and make the world a better place for others for me being here. That's the best form of worship a creator could ask for, I say. Just like a parent with kids, you don't want their worship, you really just want them to be good people.
Good for you. You will have nothing to look forward to in eternity but judgement from a righteous God.
Hell is loaded with good people. Heaven is occupied with saved sinners.
Your decision, your choice.
It is all up to you and yours. Can't even blame the obama for this one.![]()
You can bet on that - God is better than all humans combined - past, present, and future. Pope included.
God, petty? The same God that gave His Son to be sacrificed for sin? You call that petty?
What have you sacrificed for anything? Surely, by your words, nothing to deal with you r ineptness with your sin. Or life, as you and most will call it.
Sin has a price for every man - and sacrifice is not petty.
"When He rolls up His sleeves
He ain't just putting on the ritz
(Our God is an awesome God)
There's thunder in His footsteps
And lightning in His fists
(Our God is an awesome God)
And the Lord wasn't joking
When He kicked 'em out of Eden
It wasn't for no reason
That He shed His blood
His return is very close
And so you better be believing that
Our God is an awesome God"
Petty words that describe the reason for the cross?
There was a very reason that His blood was shed.
Hell is stuffed with good people. Heaven is occupied by saved sinners.
Wake up, vblonde. Along with so many others. Your eternity rests upon it.
Dwell on it.

Not knowing who you’re really directing this to, you do realize I am trying to distinguish between following a religion vs. following your faith?
See you in Heaven, Psy! I'll save you a seat at the cool kids table.
How did he sacrifice his Son if he KNEW his son was going to be resurrected?
Has anyone else's son been resurrected? Or just his?
Yep, its called hubris. And yet you yourself have not truly submitted to God's will because it's outside your realm of possibility that He might be okay with atheists. Because *you're* not okay with it, you think God must not be either. And thinking for God is probably a sin. In fact I think I read that somewhere...
You should listen to what God says first, then your great-grandma. It will put her comments in the right context. The only thing Christians should be saying about this recent papal development is "Thy will be done." Because ol' God's gonna do what He wants, whether you like it or not. My great-grandmother told me that when I was a little child.
PS, God probably isn't going to do what the Pope says, either.
Again, if he KNEW his son was going to be resurrected, what was the sacrifice?Good question. Just off the top of my head, and with my handy bible reference guide to the OT:
(OT)
- Elijah resurrected the son of the widow Zarepath (1 Kings)
- Elisha resurrected the son of the great Shunammite woman (2 Kings)
- An unnamed dead man, somebody's son, comes back to life when his dead body touched Elisha's bones. Lazarus was resurrected by Jesus from the dead, to live an unknown length of time, but ultimately died again physically. (2 Kings)
NT - (these are well known to Christians), by Jesus:
- Perhaps the most famous: Lazarus was resurrected by Jesus from the dead, to live an unknown length of time, but ultimately died again physically. (John)
- Jesus resurrected the widow's son at Nain. (Luke)
- Jesus raised (resurrected) the daughter of Jairus from the dead. (Matthew)
- countless saints resurrected at Jesus' death (Matthew)
- Peter and Paul also raised people from the dead (The Acts)
So not just sons, but daughters as well. They all eventually died again physically, of course.
Good question. Thanks for making me look some of them back up for exact locations in the Bible. Always a good thing to read the Word. Again and again.![]()
Again, if he KNEW his son was going to be resurrected, what was the sacrifice?
You don’t believe God exists, but just in case He does, you want a freebie in.
Life on earth doesn’t even work that way. You can’t have it both ways. You can’t claim you’re a conservative, against entitlements and big spending, until it comes time for you to collect then suddenly it’s okay.
Aside from that… I didn’t make the rules, God did. God demands that you accept Him or you don’t get in. You can do all the great things in the world, but if you reject Him, you’re out. Again, why should He accept you when you’ve rejected Him?
The premise for getting in is not doing things; it's accepting God. All the other 'good things' you do should be automatic.
Good for you. You will have nothing to look forward to in eternity but judgement from a righteous God.

OK to you.
Good luc k MarieB.
See ya. But probably not.![]()
