Between Friendship School Rd. and McIntosh Rd.

I'm seeing defeat for the track, put it in the book. I just came across McIntosh and drove through my old neighborhood. The area they have slated for the track has HUGE new houses (McIntosh Ridge) on 3-15 acre lots so the development company better bring a fat checkbook and several pens for all the checks they are going to have to peel off. The county may say "yea" but simple economics will say "nay".

Foolish man! Didn't you hear Andy, he said that area is economically devastated! There cannot possibly be HUGE new houses there on 3 -15 acre lots.

I'll have to drive down there over the weekend and take a gander - I'll have news on this on Monday.

Power with Control
No further word. Could mean they ran into a solid barrier of NIMBYs and crashed, could be they are still negotiating with neighbors and/or planning and zoning about mitigation factors, or maybe it's the economy, and the money has dried up, lots of stalled projects out there.

AT this rate, however, I'll be piloting a damn scooter around it instead of a car :frown:

There's two proposed tracks I've heard of, but heard nothing in regards about zoning or permits.

Tatton Park is stalled, probably not going to happen. And there's no sense now with races in Baltimore, New Jersey, Summit Point and VIR.

The other is the construction of a new track in Stafford, VA. to replace Old Dominion Speedway. I keep hearing that this will start soon and that everything's been approved... all I'm saying is, if everything has been approved, it's the best kept secret in the world.

The NIMBY barrier will prevent anything from going up... even if it's a minority of the people. Just look at the resistance to the Walmart Supercenter.
