Someone should bump this thread every day to shame me into going to the gym. Ugh.

You're losing weight now without going, right? When I go to the gym, I put on weight. It's muscle, but, I'm losing the blubber now watching what I eat and riding alot which is far more exercise than most people even dream.

When I get that off, then back to the gym. Tom says the same thing; if he wants to lose weight, he's gotta back off the gym a good bit.

So, think about it.

But muscle not only weighs more than fat, it also burns calories. So a healthy weight loss program should include not only diet, but regular cardio and strength training as well.

At least that's what they say.

102 steps from the ground floor to my office. Once in the morning, then again after lunch. 4 or 5 days a week, depending on CWS schedule.

I also chase around a baby and a 3 year old at home. Or they chase me. Either way, at least I'm moving.

I'm eating 5 times a day, no fast food or sodas, water and green tea with tons of fruits and veggies for the first time in my life. Caloric intake is between 1500-1800 a day with an hour of combined treadmill, bike and stair stepper. I've lost 14+ lbs since my all time high back in January. Gonna fly now..."

A lot of the same cardio will burn weight loss, which also includes muscle. Cardio intervals are better for keeping muscle on. :yay:

Muscle milk or monster milk and other protein shakes should help with that. I'm sure that War or Big Fatty can clear that up, I'm still  about all that stuff, but I did buy a tub of monster milk powder (per recommendation) so I'll see how that goes.

They make a lower cal version geared for the ladies too. 100 cal per serving.

Yeah, you're right. I think it's the weight lifting that makes me eat so much and gain muscle weight as well. Again, I'm getting the cardio. And I'm watching what I eat and the pounds are coming off.

After you finish your tub of Monster Milk, I'd get something else. That's some extremely over-priced protein, in my opinion.

Monster Milk (4.44lb jug = 24 servings/2 scoops=50g of protein) = $64.99/$2.71 per serving

(They do throw in some sort of BCAA complex, creatine complex and fat/lipid complex BUT you could add those supplements on the side for less)

OR

You can buy Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey (10lb bag = 77 servings/scoops=48g of protein) = $79.99/$1.04 per serving
