I think they're both crazy. That's my point. I war raised Catholic. I think I may have been to church maybe three times my whole life. I'm not sure if there is a God, but if there is I don't think God would care who is President. Like most of you guys have said in this forum "God gives us the gift of choice". So why would God give us this choice just to take it away from us and back Bush???? That doesn't sit well with me. I think Bush is crazy. Not only does he think Americans don't have a choice for President (because he thinks he has Gods backing), but he does everything in the name of HIS religion.
Raised Catholic and only been to church three times? What branch/sect of Catholicism is this?

I was raised Catholic, but I don't practice. I don't think I need someone to tell me what God wants. I think God does fine on his own. But, by being raised Catholic I was brought up with a good value system, on the other hand it wasn't the religion that instilled the good values, it was my parents.

Completely off-topic, but when I read that, I was reminded of Mama Corleone in "The Godfather" novel, talking to her daughter-in-law Kay.

Kay: "Is it required that you go to church every day?"
Mama: "Oh no, some Catholics only go on Christmas and Easter. You go when you feel like."
Kay: "Then why do you go every day?"
Mama: "I go every day so my husband goes up there (pointing up). I pray every day so he doesn't go down there (pointing down)."

As far as I'm concerned, God doesn't care if we go to Church every Sunday. I go to Church when I need guidance, or when I need reassurance. I don't go to Church to have a Priest tell me what the Bible says. Stephen King writes good fiction, and whoever wrote the Bible did a pretty good job too.

Catholic does not equal good value system. Most of the Italian mafia were apparently raised Catholic too.

Typical. Problem is "mama" or anyone else cannot pray someone else into Heaven. It is a personal decision. Each person has to make it on their own.

Been three whole times, huh? Wow, you must be a very self assured person. But you are wrong, God does care if you go to Chruch.
Hebrews 10:24-26
24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left,

That's true, but most Catholics truely care care about their families and fellow man. So they do pray for each other. My Mother prays for my family before she goes to bed at night. I think its great she has that much love in her life that she can do that. With your attitude it sounds like praying for someone else is wrong.
