My wife is that way. I like it kissed with a flame on the outside..she likes it done to burnt. Makes my grilling a challenge....getting both outcomes reached simultaneously
I have this problem with Mommy Dearest. If I'm planning to grill beef, I alway offer to grill for her as well. My level of "doneness" is rather wide. I like browned on both sides and warm in the middle. Usually end up throwing mine back on to warm it up by the time hers is "done".

We always end up with too many chuck roasts from the whole Angus we buy every year. Slow-cooker is always a great way to prepare them, of course, but I started running some on the smoker too and they've come out great!
I LOVE to slow cook Chuck Roasts!

Tonight's dinner.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

The smoker was acting up today. The plug wasn't seating properly, so it wouldn't energize all the time. I jury rigged it for now.

My smoker was acting up also, I think it was a little too cold for it and it did the low temp shutdown.

I have a bottom round roast in the oven, seasoned with fresh ground black pepper, sea salt and onion/garlic powder.

Also baking potatoes, I rub them with butter and a big sweet onion I cut in half, brushed with olive oil and seasoned with lemon pepper.
Wrapped these in foil, placed on the rack in the pan next to the beef.

Will sauté mushrooms, onions and garlic for gravy with the pan drippings. Steamed green beans with butter for veggie.

Have a bottle of Chianti Classico Riserva to drink.

Anita made baklava for dessert. Will have that with demitasse cups of Greek coffee.
