Sorry Pixie, hope I didn't offend:( I know there are times when some of us don't have any choice and have to do that, but some of them are obvious that they don't care.

Don't worry, it takes a lot more then that to offend me. I called myself a few choice names earlier. I'm not insecure in my ability to drive therefore you could tell me I'm the worst driver you've ever seen and i wouldn't mind. Like I've said I'm a very polite driver but expect the same in return. I let people over when they use their turn signals, I get out of the way of faster cars but if you don't let me over or get out of my way I'll be a b!tch. Just the way I am.

What ever happened to "driving is a privelage not a right" Its like you all are trying to see just how bad you can drive just because somebody else is too! No wonder our highways look like a battlefield scattered with body parts. You can't control anybody else's driving habits but you can DAMN SURE CONTROL YOUR OWN!!
Thats my 2 cents worth so flame away guys. You won't get a reply from this cat. Homey don't play that!!

Well I have to agree with you. I have lost three members of my family in three differrent accidents because of drivers losing control at high rates of speed. Like it or not, if you going 60, 70 75 you are breaking the law. I dont' care experienced you think you might be things happen. My car was totaled my a girl going over 65mph and decided to cut me off in the left lane so she can get around another driver that was ahead of her in the right lane.

My daughters were in the car, my life was dramaticly changed because someone thought they had the right to drive over the spped limit and the right to cut me off. Did I derserve that, did my kids derserve that? I tell you it takes eveerything I have not to beat the fu#$# out of someone when they think they are so big and bad and that it is cute to drive like an idiot. I drive in dc, va and beyond, and I tell you, you have no right to break the law or hurt someone else .

P. S. Announcement for SOMD Drivers

 You know, I was wondering too about this: If I'm doing 65mph up RTE 5 to Waldorf(to see how the rich people live-hah hah!), and some kid in a Japanese hopped-up rice burner
creeps up on me, coming within FIVE feet of my back bumper, am I obliged to signal right and move over, or should I wait for his frustration to take hold and watch him go around me? EH?

Just last Thursday on rte 4 near the Mr. Tire auto shop, I was coming home and was cut off by a driver in a durango. The car was traveling at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic, I watched the car from about the firestation where I was cutoff, to near Mr.Tire were the drivers wheels lost traction in the gravel.I watched as the driver tried to correct it and failed. I among many other people watched in horror as the vehicle overturned atleast 5-6 times. It was horrible, a friend of mine from Mr. Tire ran out to help them, him and one more person was there and they pulled three out of five children from the wreck. The three pulled out Looked seriously hurt, the others were pinned in. The driver I suppose was the mom was badly hurt as well. I can not understand why anyone would not only put themselves in jeopardy but their children and other innocent victims as well. Why do people drive so fast? I can understand 60 maybe, but 65, 70 and higher? I just do not understand. :bawl:

I have a very sadistic side when it comes to these kinds of things. When someone is driving like an idiot and ends up hurting him/her self or they die, I actually get a smile on my face. Because so many times these people only hurt others and not themselves which just isn't right. Of course, if others are injured in the accident (either in their car or a car they hit) they my heart does go out to them.. Especially if kids are involved. But for the who institgated the trouble, I can only smile.. I was reading in the paper about the recent deaths by red-light runners (I think people remember by thoughts on this subject) and just kept shaking my head and couldn't believe these innocent people had been killed by such a useless tragedy.. Then I read the one where the guy who ran the light was killed.. I just smiled and thanked god that he was out of the gene pool and I wouldn't have to worry about him hurting me or my wife.

I have to agree with you, I know it is wrong and that two wrongs don't make a right, but to see people driving the way they do with no thought to the law or to other drivers bugs the hell out of me. Then the ones out there who don't care and brag about it to their friends is astounding. Outside I think it is called Mckays in mechanicsville on 235/5 My dad and step mother were leaving that shopping mall, making a left to go back to St. Marys and a kid ran the light going about 80 and t-boned them. My dad side was hit, and the glass slashed his thoart and he suffered two broken ribs and many other minor injuries, my step mother injured her back and to this day has difficulty with pain and walking, their dog who the used to take everyway died. That was about 2 years ago and they are still fighting it in court. The driver of course had NO INSURANCE, and my dads insurance only covers a certain amount for uninsured motorist. All I can say is "what goes around...comes around""
and those drivers are going to flip of or cut off the wrong person and they are going to either get their ass kicked or killed.

Pretty brutal, but I can't say I disagree. These drivers not only hurt strangers, they hurt their own loved ones.

Absurd!

Since when is it EVER okay to rejoice in someone's death???
That's the most ridiculous, asinine thing I've ever heard.
It's heartless, sick, and completely out of line; just like the stuff in the NASCAR thread.
I swear, I make some stupid statments sometimes, but people generally take me to task for it and I usually, if not always, try to correct them.
This is complete idiocy, and I refuse to sit her and pretend it's okay when it isn't.
You tempt Karma WAY too much when you tread in those waters!

I think the weather is affecting some people's brains --lighten up and realize that it's only a joke.

bknarw, I think SmallTown's point was that behavior that is self-destructive and destructive to others does have consequences. You're right that there's a difference between saying that a reckless driver "may probably die" and "deserves to die."

After thinking about this, I realized that instead of rejoycing in such deaths, I feel sad. Sad at their deaths, and sad that these drivers didn't have more regard for themselves, their loved ones and strangers.

I understand Tonio. I'm simply frustrated at the lack of regard for human life, and the double standard here in dealing with such attitudes.
I made a comment in one of my posts yesterday that I thought was cute, but it was completely out of line. A friend sent me a note telling me so and I realized it. It WAS out of line and I went back and edited it. I know this is the web, and it's all supposed to be in fun, but nothing about the loss of human life is funny to me no matter what the intention.
