puppy biting

I will throw out the suggestion of another trainer to mom and stepdad as this is there dog not mine. I am the one who mainly works with her though.

You should ask your grandfather, grandparents are usually really good with animals.

MY grandparents never had any animals so they don't even know how to handle bruno at all they just get mad at her and start screaming at her.

How do you get a puppy to stop biting. I have tried everything under the sun and nothing seems to be working do any of you have any good techniques that work?

We had the biting issue with our dog. Even the stuff the obedience trainer suggested didn't work after the 1st or 2nd time (even with him). What worked for us was a spray bottle with 1 part white vinegar to 8 parts water. After a stern "no bite" the next bite was met with a spray. It would make the dog sneeze and shake his head, but it wouldn't burn his eyes like bitter apple spray. In conjunction after the spray all interaction would stop and I'd go into another room and close the door and count to 30. I'd come back out like nothing happened and we'd continue to play as long as he didn't bite.

For a couple of weeks the poor dog smelled like white vinegar. But, he got the message. After a while just holding the bottle made him "remember" to behave. Later on just sitting the bottle next to me was enough deterrent. We haven't had to use the bottle in years. The bottle also worked when he would get persistant while we were eating dinner. Just sit the bottle on the table and I had a well behaved dog. He also learned how to use a "soft mouth" because if he used his mouth "softly" we didn't spray him.

Good luck.
