Aww he looks so happy!! He's adorable!!!

My doggie is a PITA beagle. It's taken him two years, but this week he decided to choose a spot to mark in the house and I've cleaned it three times in two days and the stain won't come out!!!:frown:

PLus, he sniffed out someone's fryer grease and twice got in to it this week so I had to give him a bath at midnight last night. Good thing I love him at least as much as I love my kids or he'd be dead meat for stinking up my house.

I feel you pain, I must have kept Petco in business training my dog.... :killingme. They have really good carpet cleaning stuff for dog stains. I cant remember the name but they carry it all the time.

He is such a good pup most of the time. Not bad for a dog who'd never been in a house and was abandoned as a puppy. He loves me so much he's learned to listen to me fairly well. Now if only I could get him to listen when I'm out side:ohwell:

I try to steer clear of chemical stuff and have been using baking soda and lemon juice on it. It's worked very good for the smell, but he must have been a little dehydrated when he piddled, as it had a very dark color. I need to clean all the carpet in the house anyway, so I'll have to such it up and use something commercial then.:yay:

SoMdGirl - thanks for your info. How often do you need to groom shih tzu's?

I just got a foster shih tzu the other day, he is soooo carefree, minding his own business and gets along with everyone. The shelter said he is around 8yo, MO, I think he may be a tad older but he will be up for adoption as soon as we get him fixed and cleaned up. We named him Jasper, he is also potty trained!!!!:howdy: There is a great groomer, Rita, on 231 who might be able to show you what to do to keep up with his grooming.....

:yahoo: This would be perfect for her! Who would give up a 8 y/o? :bawl: I know I adopted my two boys when they were nearly two. I was told the owner was an elderly lady who got the pups to keep her company. When she passed away, no one wanted to take care of them.

SMR, post a pic! This little guy will have a furever home in no time! Is he all shih tzu, or mixed?

I would totally not get a shelter dog if you have young kids. You don't know what you're getting, where they came from or what their problem might be. The shelter people will tell you a story about the dog, but 9 times out of 10, they don't know either.

Sorry, animal nutties, but I think it's irresponsible to suggest a wild card dog to someone who has a 6 year old.

:pete: Any animal has the potential to become aggressive, whether you raise them from the time they are weened or adopted from a rescue. I wouldn't trade my three rescues for the world! Any time you get an animal, that's the risk you take until you know the animal.

Sick with your camels, they're likely to kill you slowly where as rabies will kill you quick.

My adopted pups are wonderful dogs. The oldest is around 14-15, just grumpy as can be!!:buddies:
