I miss the drive-in. When Monello and I were on the road I'd specifically look to see if there was one in our vicinity. We saw "Joker" at a drive-in in Abilene, TX.

I can remember when my mom really wanted to see Coal Miner's Daughter so took my brother and I to see it at Super Chief. We were about 7 and 9. She didn't really follow a lot of the comedians back then, and the second show of the night was Richard Pryor Live on Sunset Strip. She about died when the first line when he came on screen was "let's talk about f*cking!". She was a recently transplanted naive KS farm girl.

We had the Ranch Drive-in in Clinton, where I grew up. Close proximity to that was the ABC Drive In and Super Chief drive-ins. When we lived in Suitland for a short time, we had the Hillcrest Drive-in, that one was great because they had pony rides under the screen before the movies started. My ex and I went to the drive-in just about every weekend, I think we saw the Poseiden Adventure at least 15 times, it was always playing with what other movie we wanted to see.

We had three local drive-ins when I was growing up - Starview, 84th & O, and West O.
Moffett was one of many. Just off the top of my head, we also had Burlingame, Sunnyvale, Capitol, Monte Sereno, Winchester...

Where was the Ranch? I can remember it being in Clinton area, but not exactly where.

I lived in the area too way back when. Are you thinking of Hillside Drive-In? Early marriage, we went to the drive-in every weekend too. I miss that. I was an inexpensive night out. The last time I went was to see ET at the ABC. I think the rest of them had closed by then.

I remember Palmer Drive-In hiring sky-writers to advertise their week end movies. Remembering the fit I threw when my older sisters got to go see a Frankenstein movie at Palmer, think I was 4 or 5. Went to Beltsville drive-in alot with a buddy's parents, this was before they changed their 'product'. Saw ET at Laurel Drive-In, believe that was the last drive-in in my area in the early 80s.

I remember that late night would show skin flicks. Moffett was backed right up to the 101 and you could see them from the highway or side roads..

21 Jump Street around 2012 at Capitol in San Jose. Sister and I took our girls to their first drive in movie. They were so excited!
