Noticed over the weekend that the Lone Star in Waldorf and the Three Brothers in La Plata have closed. Anyone else notice chains closing their locals?

Given the sudden plunge in food quality at the Lone Star in LP, I wondered if doors were going to close soon. Bummer too..that was my gf and mine favorite steak joint for quite a while.

Lots of local restaurants will be closing over the next 1-2 years. They have no choice because the country lets as many new ones as want to keep building in a completely saturated market. Its not rocket science; a new one opens, and existing one closes.

Used to love LS's cajun ribeye!

the one on 235 is open for business - I recently ran into an employee who said they had been closed (briefly) for renovations.
Maybe the locations in Waldorf are under renovation?

And please get over what "the county" does. It's a business, it's run for profit, the county approves permits based on code, not business plan. At least not until we become a fully compliant socialist state.

If restaurants close it's their business decision. It's a tough industry.

A few of my favorite lunch haunts have closed in the Clinton area. Regina's Pizza (which I was a regular customer), Tom's Kitchen (formerly Chi-Chi's, also closed), Royal Beijing (Chinese buffet) to name a few in the past year or two.

Haven't noticed any local franchise chains closing, though. I hope they don't close the Three Brothers in Clinton. :cds:

This is old news, but a restaurant in Prince Frederick closed about 2 months ago. I think it was Red, Hot and Blue, but I'm not sure. It is being replaced with IHOP in November.

Since someone mentioned new restaurants too, does anyone know which restaurant is coming in Lexington Park that will sit right next to the new Red Robin? I heard a rumor it was a steakhouse, and I'm wondering if it's a Texas Roadhouse or a Longhorn.

IHOP eh? We were so bummed when the Pr. Frederick RW&B closed after such a short time. Momma was crazy for their bbq ever since I took her to the one up by Annapolis. ;-(

Good riddance... that place was filthy. Grease and dirt splattered all over the walls and floors. I can only imagine what the kitchen looked like if they were too lazy to clean the dining area. I hope the IHOP refurbishes it thoroughly else I won't be visiting.

Not the Reginas on Allentown Road in Camp Springs? I used to like Royal Bejing for lunch. Don't forget about Margellinas in Clinton that closed.
