Your Daily Dose of Mostly Peaceful Protest

1 Woman Is Dead, Others Injured In Minneapolis After A Driver Plows Into Protestors
The Marxists behind Black Lives Matter, Critical Race Theory, and general wokeness want us to hate one another.
Well, it’s working.
Tell black people long enough that they’re victims, and they’ll start believing it — and acting that way.
Tell white people long enough that they’re evil, and they’ll start believing it — and acting that way.
And now this, an act of pure evil.
We’re really starting to hate each other again, due to insidious Marxism: Divide and conquer, then unite and rule.
And it’s going to get worse before it gets better.
If it gets better?
You’ll excuse Insanity Wrap if we’re a little cranky today, but after a lovely weekend spent doing chores and ignoring the world as best we could, these are the stories we woke up to on Monday.

Entire Portland Police crowd control unit resigns after officer indicted on protest assault charge

The mass resignation comes a day after a grand jury indicted Portland Police Bureau Officer Corey Budworth on one count of fourth-degree assault, a misdemeanor, for what prosecutors allege was an "excessive and unlawful use of force" during a protest in August 2020.

Budworth, who at the time was on the bureau's Rapid Response Team, is accused of striking a woman in the head with a baton during an Aug. 18, 2020, demonstration outside the Multnomah Building. The indictment marks the first time a Portland police officer has faced prosecution for striking or firing at someone during a protest, according to the Oregonian.

Two law enforcement sources close to the team told ABC News the officers decided the assault charge reflected too much hostility towards their police work, and they did not see a way forward in being members of the team facing sometimes violent protests in downtown Portland.

Davis said the bureau, including the members of the Rapid Response Team, has been under a "tremendous amount of stress" due to the coronavirus pandemic and in the wake of the murder of George Floyd, during which he said Portland saw over 150 nights of "sustained civil unrest."

The stress is not the problem. People can deal with that.
The problem is that they have this stress because the politicians and the people of the city of Portland do not stand behind their police officers. At the first sign of trouble they cater to the mob. An officer doing his job is placing a burden on himself. The burden of not knowing what charges he may face if some fanatic should disobey his lawful order and he may have to use force and then defend himself from his own superiors who may abandon him and leave him to face civil and criminal charges.

Why place yourself in this position.? When the mob comes go there and watch, and try to keep out of the way.
That is what we are seeing in Portland and in California where shop lifting is no longer a crime.

George Floyd Rioter Admits He Set Pawnshop Ablaze But Denies Killing Man Inside

A 26-year-old Minnesota man has admitted to setting a local pawnshop ablaze while rioting last May to protest the death of George Floyd.

Montez T. Lee Jr., however, is claiming he’s not responsible for the death of a 30-year-old man found inside the burned down shop.

Last week, Lee admitted in U.S. District Court in St. Paul to one count of arson in connection with the fire that engulfed the Max It Pawn store on May 28, 2020, the StarTribune reported Tuesday.

“Surveillance video footage showed Lee pouring an accelerant around the shop and lighting it. A second video captured Lee standing in front of the burning business and saying that they were going to burn it down,” the report added. Oscar Lee Stewart Jr.’s dead body was recovered about about two months later inside the burned pawnshop.

“An autopsy conducted by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office ruled that Stewart died of smoke inhalation and excessive burns,” the Star Tribune report noted.

Suspects Finally Arrested for Murder of 8-Year-Old Secoriea Turner at Atlanta BLM Rally Last Year

A black man named Rayshard Brooks fell asleep in a Wendy’s drive-thru. After a peaceful 41-minute talk with the police, they attempted to arrest him for DUI. Brooks grabbed a cop’s taser and fired it at him twice while running away. The police officer, who was white, promptly perforated Brooks. Violent riots naturally ensued. BLM declared an “autonomous” zone.

Secoriea Turner was riding in the back of her mom’s SUV when it turned into a drive very close to the Wendy’s where Brooks was shot. The mother drove around barriers set up by armed thugs, who fired into the SUV.

It took the murder of an eight-year-old girl for the mayor of Atlanta, Keisha Lance Bottoms to declare that “enough is enough” and to put a stop to the riots.

“These aren’t police officers shooting people on the streets of Atlanta,” Bottoms said. “These are members of the community shooting each other. And in this case, it is the worse possible outcome.”

Boasting Floyd Rioter Sentenced To Nine Years Behind Bars: ‘I Lit It On Fire!’

“Matthew Rupert, 29, of Galesburg, Ill., has been sentenced to nearly 9 years in federal prison after being convicted for his role in the Minneapolis BLM-Antifa riots last year,” Andy Ngo reported Tuesday. “He handed out explosives & set a store on fire.”

According to Ngo, Rupert’s sentence is the longest thus far for those involved in the left-wing Black Lives Matter/Antifa riots.

“Convicted #BLM arsonist Matthew Lee Rupert drove more than 400 miles from Illinois to riot in Minneapolis on 28 May, 2020,” Ngo added. “In addition to handing out shell explosives to rioters, he doused lighter fluid over a pile of boxes inside a store & set it on fire.”

Armed Private Security Now Patrolling Portland’s Downtown After City Slashes Police Funding

Armed private security forces, hired by local businesses, are now patrolling Portland, Oregon’s, downtown to keep the peace amid a crime spree, following a Portland city government decision to slash police funding by $16 million.

According to local news sources, Portland, like most major cities, is suffering from a spike in crime. “Homicides in Portland increased from 28 in 2019 to 54 in 2020. Among cities similar in size to Portland, Seattle saw an increase from 34 to 53 homicides, in Minneapolis, a spike from 48 to 82, and Milwaukee saw homicides increase from 97 to 190 from 2019 to 2020, ” KGW reported earlier this summer.

Portland, the outlet added, is likely on track to see around a hundred homicides this year.

So those merchants are paying taxes for no police and also paying for private security. May be time to close up shop and relocate someplace better.
