Oh no, I wish, I love that place. However we will be stopping in Portland to place a wreath on my grandparents grave.

The Campground is called Beaver Book, it is on Androscoggin Lake.

The second biggest part is what you are doing; being at the camp ground. The campfire, the nature, etc. Whenever I bring it up, my peeps have wisdom teeth that need pulling, bathrooms to caulk and dust bunnies to inventory.
I am so down with your peeps...:coffee: Never had a desire to RV, hate the thought of camping, give me a 3, 4 or 5 star hotel/resort instead and I am happy.

My kids are 11 and 14 and have never been RVing or camping. I guess I should send them off with some other family some time soon so they can at least say they've done it once.

Make sure you take several Steven King novels to read while you're up there
alone
in the dark
with the leaves rustling

That certainly was the allure to the whole trip, the experience of travelling in the RV...but the cost difference between renting one to go to Maine and back and renting one already at the campground was far too great. Especially when factoring in that renting the RV from Maryland and only getting a 700 mile allowance...the trip one way is about 1000.

So I think for Memorial Day weekend we will do the RV rental and travel somewhere a little closer.

...every time I bring it up Vrail is like :jameo:

All we gotta do is BUY a coach, say this one...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...MEWA:IT&viewitem=&item=260094407484&rd=1&rd=1

...and then that's only like $800 a month for 20 years and renting the same thing is like $2,000 a week, so, if we were to rent for, say, a month, that's almost $10,000 versus $9,600 to buy, so, obviously, it is cheaper to own and if we were to go more often than a month, like everybody does, then, hell, we're $1,000's AHEAD per year...

...which means we can afford more coach...like this one...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mona...091054454QQcategoryZ50056QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

...which would REALLY put us ahead considering what it costs to rent that thing versus buying...

:lmao:

How long ago? Did you like?
Been there a couple times, probably 5-6 years ago. Decent place, it is above Lewiston out in the sticks if I remember right. Boy liked it because everynight they had a little field and they had a lolipop hunt. the kids run around with flashlights finding dum dum pops. :lmao:

From what the fam said of last year, it was great...lots of kids activities, fireworks, cookouts, parties, etc.
