Salvation--a real dialogue

I really don't know why innocent people, children or adults, die.

I also don't know why bad things happen to good people.

When I consider Job 1 I can see that God had a reason for the action He took, even though it isn't a reason I particularly appreciate.

I lost 6 children to miscarriage. I don't know why I was never allowed to meet them.

I don't know why my daughter had to face ovarian cancer before she turned 18. She works at a nursing home. She takes care of people who are dying every day.

Might I suggest that Jonah 4 is the answer you are looking for?

We just don't know. That's why Salvation requires Faith IMHO.

:coffee:

Why does God allow it to happen? 1) Problem of Evil. 2) So you look to Him.

Freedom apart from God has consequences. God can forgive man's sin but there are still consequences to our actions.
Some things we will never understand unless we are God.
I'm sorry for your pain though.

ahh yes. The ole "I heard it on the radio" ploy. :eyebrow:

From one pastor, I downloaded all of the verse by verse studies and it was over eight gigabytes and that was just from one of the local Bible teachers I listen to.
Sermon prep can take over 25 hours. It took me five hours to go through one chapter using half a dozen commentaries. Then I went to a Bible institute and without software, it took me five hours to go through two verses of the Bible.
I have four book cases with about 70+ feet of Christian books and then I have some boxes of books and I started buying kindle books.
Then there is research and my relatives think that I shouldn't care who goes to hell because it isn't making me any money and they'd rather talk to me. One page of typing can take two hours of work a night.
So yes, it is a lot of research.

Let me ask you something, why are there books on higher criticism? Because it is a lot of research and it fits into books.

All of you SS adherents' silence is deafening. The quote above is unbelievable. Thank you for failing at apologetics ChuckT

I don't think Chuck is astute enough to catch on to what he just did.

He that has ears to hear let him hear.

Or perhaps I should say...give a man enough rope and he'll hang himself.

I just haven't been around much. Downe's sufferers being saved is entirely biblical. The bible is clear that judgment day is a reckoning of our sins. How can one be accountable for sins if they mentally unable to be accountable? Is not God a god of justice who judges justly? In your zeal to stamp out Protestantism and Sola Scriptura, you are losing your common AND biblical sense.

Not at all. Just really noticing of late that the number of Protestants who claim to adhere to SS strictly really don't in one way or another but don't realize it...
