Tiny women are so cute... and feminine. :cds:

There's nothing unfeminine about tall women.

Just this morning I was on the metro next to a woman, couldn't have been less than 6'3". With her heels I actually had to look up at her.

But... dayem.

Nothing remotely non-feminine or un-hot about her.

I was on the metro this morning next to some guy who kept staring at me like I was a hot chick. :jet:

Whole lotta creeps on the metro.

did anyone grab your butt? I hated that when I used to work in DC and ride the subway trains to get to work - would be standing room only when I got on, and some creep used to grab my butt periodically (different days) and I never knew who it was.

I've never had my butt grabbed that I'm aware of.

But some days - especially when the Nationals are playing home games - where I've felt some suspiciousness going on back there. Luckily I keep my wallet in my inside jacket pocket or my front pants pocket if I'm not wearing a jacket.

Or in my hands if I'm not wearing pants.

I know how short you are. I remember they had to put a booster seat in your chair at rivers edge.

I do have to admit though that my feet often don't reach the floor, especially in booths or at bar stools!!! Also, some booths sit so low compared to the table, that my chest is level with the table top. It's hard to eat when you're staring directly at your plate! I can definitely relate to kids!

On a lighter note, my car has a "telescoping" steering wheel, so that I don't have to sit up too close to the air bag! I can keep it about the recommended 12 inches away from me.

I never knew this was a recommendation.

Hmmmmm. Can't remember exactly where I saw it (maybe owner's manual), but here's this info from the NHTSA. No specific distance is cited:

Q16. What is considered a safe distance to sit from the steering wheel in an air bag equipped vehicle?

A: All drivers need to be properly belted and sit as far from the air bag as possible to allow the air bag to deploy. Short drivers should move the driver's seat rearward to allow space between the driver's chest and the steering wheel, and the seat back should be tilted back slightly. There is no precise distance known that will guarantee that no injuries will occur because all air bags are unique and deploy with different forces. However, the driver should refrain from leaning forward and, to the extent possible, the driver should hold the steering wheel from the side so that his/her arms aren't between the driver and the air bag.

And, a Bonus Question!

Q17: Is it safe for short adults to be seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle equipped with a passenger-side air bag?

A: Yes. However, all passengers should be properly restrained, regardless of size. All front seat passengers (adults and children) should move the seat as far rearward as possible, and may tilt the seat back slightly to help maximize the distance between the driver's chest and the steering wheel. In order to allow the air bag to deploy safely, front seat passengers should avoid leaning or reaching forward and should remain seated against the vehicle seat back, with as little slack in the belt as possible to minimize forward movement in a crash.

Chances are that I will end up with injuries from the air bag. I can not sit far enough back and still reach the gas/brake.

I recall when I had my 1978 Camaro, I couldn't reach the pedals even with the seat all the way forward and a pillow (no airbags then of course) so I had someone cut blocks of wood that were about 4" thick and they used metal water hose clamps to fasten them to the clutch, the brake and the gas pedals <G>. Worked like a charm.

I hate my feet not reaching at restaurants too.

I know I've driven friends who are cops around in my car before and they have all said - you know if your airbag deploys you are going to die. :ohwell:

My next car is going to have adjustable pedals so I don't have to scoot up so far.

I'd have put you in a ANSI approved child seat & turned off your airbag. :buddies:
