Terry,
I also saw a shrink a couple of years back. I suffer from Anxiety attacks and SAD's. All they did was just stick me on meds.They gave me Zoloft and I also take Larazapam with kills an anxiety attack on the spot, however I wish I never starting taking them. I feel that I am now dependent on my meds to get me through the day. I want to be able to get through life without taking an antidepressant. The doctor said this is something I am going to have to live with for the rest of my life. I say B.S. There has got to be a better way with dealing with this condition. I became shock to find out that there was a lot of people I knew on the meds for the same reason.
I have no clue why you need a shrink, however if you feel that you need to see one then go. Oh one more thing for anyone who does suffer from SAD's The happy lamp also known as the light box really does work.. I feel a great change in my moods after about a week using it. Terry, an awful lot of us on here have been to counseling and the drug quacks, either for ourselves (you're shocked, I know 
) or our kids. So it would help if we had a better idea of what the problem is so we don't tell you the wrong thing. You can literally spend thousands of dollars, talk til you're blue in the face and be drugged until you can't move, but it still hasn't solved your problem.

Hun, You should reread my post. There was no mention why I needed one or did I think it was anyones busiiness. I just wanted to know if any one knew of any good shrinks in the area. And you ask why I asked?I didnt know I had to state that in my post but I will let you in on it. LOL Im considering making a change in docs.

I guess you are changing the doctors..for a change of meds....why can't you just talk to a friend? hell talk to me...we can pm back and forth..I will take good care of you I promise.
A "good" shrink typically specializes. Family therapy, anxiety disorders, marital counseling, childhood trauma. What was good for one person may not necessarily be good for you, and vice versa.Terrylt7 said:

Most shrinks specializes in several of those. I wasnt looking for a counselor or a shrink(doc). I have all I need but was wondering if anyone knew any good ones if I decided to change. Thats all I asked.... this is starting to tire me out LOL Gosh things get so blown out of porportion. Thanks anyways
