I wish the **** ours would come back on. I worked in the blazing sun this afternoon and can't even stand my own smell right now. :twitch:
You should still have lots of hot water. Doesn't go cold for almost a day.

This is the best thing on the internet - the ability to see where the power is out and get an ETA on when it will be back on. :yahoo:
Yeah, I checked. They didn't even know the power was out, even though they told me it had been reported. **** SMECO.

I'm on a well and the house is pretty much dark. I'm sure there's enough water to shower, but I'm worried about lowering the pressure too much.
Gotcha. 240v? So your genny won't run it....

Guess you're just gonna have to stank for a while.

Got genny running right now to keep fridges and freezer running. I just can't believe that SMECO can't handle a veritable blip in the system and not have it up by now. Don't they pay their crews to be on-call?

The power's back on! :yahoo:

I was looking at my phone, and exactly 00:00, the lights came back on.

Only about 6 hours later.

Sorry for your luck. I've had a few power outages that SMECO has handled promptly. Last one was a broken underground line that they traced from my distrib box back 150 yards to the center of neighbors gravel driveway. They hooked up some type of device to my box and it told them the break was where it was. They replaced my distrib box and dug up neighbors driveway, fixed line, refilled hole and were gone in 5 hours. Only thing noticeable the next day was the new distrib box and orange spray paint tracing where the underground line ran. Neighbor's driveway looked like it had never been touched.

Still sitting in my truck, so I have light. Power has been out since nightfall. Gen running, thank you @Sneakers, no foreseeable resolution. I just hope I have enough gas.

Total devastation in Tall Timbers, Drayden, Piney Point area. Trees down everywhere..big trees. Hundreds of them. Headed over to the TT marina now to check on our Hatteras.
When I looked at the outage map and saw everything down, I hoped it was just a main feed to the island. Wasn't expecting to hear this.

Went out just after 6pm. Came back on sometime after 2am. Woke up at 1:15am and saw a text message from SMECO from sometime after midnight saying the power was back on. No it wasn't.

Update: trees and pieces of trees everywhere. Didn't see any on houses though, and crews had obviously been busy clearing the ones that had fallen on roadways. Damage is interesting...very localized in spot after spot, as if a bunch of mini-tornadoes had continually touched down.

happy to be living
It is still drizzling in Lusby this morning. My indoor shop, MimiB's Treasures is open today and weather permitting, I was going to put tools and other stuff outside. Ya know, keep the husbands happy

Yesterday evening on our way to the Green Door, we experienced the wind as the storm was moving through- it was fierce. When we left the Door hours later and headed south, we noticed numerous trees down. One went across the new billion dollar walkway in St Mary’s City. All was good at our house thankfully.
