Shoppers

Sounds like a good reason to finally go in there. Harris Teeter had a row for them, I think. It was way the hell in the back of the store. With the circulation issues I have with my legs, I was pretty bummed to finally go in there and come up empty handed. It was a major hike after being on my feet all day. My daughter shops HT a lot. I may get her to check again when she goes.
My sympathies; it seems like everything I'm after in any grocery store is ALWAYS in the back and it's ALWAYS on a bad knee day.

I had an appointment to have angioplasty a couple years ago and had to put it off. Hopefully, we can just pick up where we left off. Every time I get ready to call, some other crap comes up.

As my best friend Gooch used to say, "If I'd known I was gonna live this long, I would've taken better care of myself".

Is that the Gooch from different strokes?

California.
I've been to the one in L'town. While similar to the old McKay's there, the aisles are wider (and thus there's less in the store) and there's (to my mind) a good bit of wasted space. Prices for most things I looked at seemed high, but a few things were very cheap. Since the crowd in Food Lion often looks like that in the California WalMart (I'm soooooo judgemental today), I'm sure I'll be back in Shoppers soon.

Actually, that's where his nickname came from. Rob's little bro used to watch DS and one day he was being a typical big bro and messing with his little bro, so he called him The Gooch. I thought it was hilarious, so of course being his best friend, the name stuck with him after that.

It's so easy to put off isn't it - like any excuse is a good excuse. If I had listened to my doctor ten years ago, I wouldn't be looking at total knee replacement and now...I'm old, how much longer can I last, is it really worth it? (That's my latest excuse] Best of luck, be around for your grandson!

Ride one of the electric scooters. I go get one and put my mom in it occasionally, unfortunately she has ran into things in stores. Someone stepped out in front of her in Walmart so she swerved, hit a shampoo display and bottles of shampoo went everywhere. The guy was nice about it though, said it was all his fault and picked them up.

Good lord I don't know what I'm doing wrong that I'm reposting you so many times.

Shoot I can't even steer a buggy in the grocery store w/o running into something/someone. Your poor mom; mine would have been mortified. Then blamed it on me. On the other hand PE, it's going to make a great story one day at family get togethers.

It's too much. You are hospitalized for a day or so, then you need help in the home for a few weeks, then it's a walker, then it's a cane and six months later they want to do the other knee. I got injections in March. They've just now kicked in and I'm walking much better and in far less pain than I had been having. My doctor is an arse about the surgery, but his PA said you can continue with injections as long as you feel comfortable with it.

The older you get, the longer it will take to recover. A friend of mine in her late 50s got it done, she is on her feet all day as a hairdresser. She could not be happier with it.

This VA? I guess its not as easy as finding another doctor with VA is it?

Actually...I think I can go just about anywhere I want. Never had any issue with TriCare for Life and doctors. I know a few people that have recommended other bone guys - my current doc has a great reputation, but a lousy bedside manner. He's aggressive and sighs whenever I ask questions. I hate that - I know I'm I stupid and he's the God of Bones but...meh it's probably just me and my dislike of doctors in general.

Would you mind if I tapped your brain for a few questions later? I got to get out the door in a few minutes...I'm going back and forth on to do it or not to do it and I have an appointment in another two weeks. I KNOW he's going to bug me about getting on his schedule again. Thanks!
