Normalizing what is not normal is the goal of this. 'Look, even the public library now has drag queen events!'

Remember when they told us that all they wanted is to live their own lives without discrimination and how they had no interest converting anyone. Well, they were lying.

Next, the library will be hosting NAMBLA believing it is good for the community.

I don't think the concern should be the venue. The library is public and paid for by ALL of our tax dollars. They should host any public group that wants to be there.

That's the problem. The "holier than thou" crowd thinks they should be the thought police and determine who gets to rent rooms at the library.

Well, lets see...if the KKK wanted to rent a room at the library and read stories to young children...would they be allowed to do so?? They think they are in the right and have the same opportunities to tell their story and spread their beliefs. What about a group of satan worshipers?? See, sometimes the "thought" police aren't a bad thing!

Yes, and they should be allowed to do so.

Why must the government make the decisions parents should be?

That is exactly what I said in an earlier post. This is the responsibility of the parents and guardians. Of course, it was by choice if your child attended, however, I still put it in the "indoctrination of young minds" category. Why is such a small portion of the population causing all the ruckus and getting the attention??...can you say NewsMedia????

I agree that the media tends to portray things that don't reflect our actual daily lives but I'd say the KKK and satanists make up such a small portion of the population that it really wouldn't matter much.

Unless they wanted to rent a room in a public facility to read stories to children. Its a vicious circle perpetrated by the media. Its the same thing, if you pay attention to all the drivel they report on, you would think 90% of Americans were killing each other, racial riots occurred everyday, all the crime committed is racially motivated and all of us are dying of drug overdoses!! Its really a small minority amount, comparitively speaking.

Absolutely

Yes, of course.

“For me, what I don't like to see is our public safety resources being drained from other places in the county and our budget is being drained for controversial measures that are happening at the library,”

What a crock.

Commissioners make library pay security costs of ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’

From the article:

Another interesting point that was brought up by Commissioner Eric Colvin was regarding a post made on the American Library Association’s[ALA] website by St. Mary’s County Librarian Tess Goldwasser two years ago. The content of her post suggested ways for librarians to “sneakily fit [LGBT] stuff into current [children’s] programming” while acting as a “secret librarian advocate operative.” Transparency with the library’s board was challenged and thoroughly discussed after reviewing that post, with a resulting optimistic attitude of cooperation with the CSMC that could lead to library board meetings being broadcast in the not so distant future.

“There is no doubt that the libraries are doing a lot of wonderful stuff… More disturbing to me than the [Drag Queen Story Hour] was the article that came to light on the ALA website,” Colvin explained. “That was a very troubling article to see that a children's librarian was hiding information in programs, and that leads me to believe that there’s some public trust that has been lost in the libraries

:eyebrow: No indoctrination going on here, folks. Move along. :duh:
