Thanks, I was gonna ask what do you do with them. :lmao:

I just remember the BIG prizes that were so not obtainable unless your folks and family and all of their jobs were supportive. I remember I wanted a keyboard or boombox and now it's X-boxes. The price in the two alone says a lot.

yeah....wasn't it like 8 levels or something? you raise x amount of dollars and you get level 1-3...and so on and so forth. is that how they still do it?

I do believe that is how it is. I don't sell my sons because I am not one to bring the mess to work and I wouldn't dream of letting him go about our neighborhood. All they sell is overpriced wrapping paper anyhow. I think the CiCi and Chik-Fil-A nights are good ideas. The coupon books that the high schools sell are nice. The one that I will sell is the Hersheys but I don't see that too much anymore.

The Entertainment book and card are a good idea but there isn't one for Southern Maryland. Only a few select restaurants are in it for down here and basically no service centers (auto, nail, hair, maintenance, etc.) are in the book. Very few places are listed on the Entertainment web directory as well. So, yes this COULD be an even greater idea. :flowers:

If only the PTA would take some members suggestions into consideration....

PTA can't change the make up of the Entertainment Books. That's a nationwide marketing company. I went to a conference where a similar company was set up trying to get non-profit organizations to use their coupon book fundraisers and when they found out I was from St. Mary's they blew me off. Not enough $$$ in it.

BTW, the Cherrydale fundraiser is the school itself, not the PTA. Apparently each school is required to do one fundraiser per year to support itself. For the ones that do Cherrydale, that's it. Any other fundraisers, including fall festivals and whatnot, are the PTA, which has a slightly different agenda.

The wrapping paper fundraiser that was sent home from LPES was accompanied with a note saying that it was the PTAs one and only fundraiser. It may not have been Cherrydale. The PTA is not interested-at least at my childs school-in hearing suggestions from anyone. The coupon books that I was referencing are the ones the LHS did last year with local coupons and the card that GMHS did several years back. They all were for local places like McDonalds, Lindas Cafe, Montery and Cerro Grande. They had tons of coupons in them. The kids that were selling those were running out of them as soon as they got them.

I remember when my brother and I were in elementary school, mom always took the fundraisers to work and sold tons for us. The highest seller in each class won a giant Sugar Daddy and we always got it.

I only like the pizza, cookies and cheesecakes but there is no way I am ordering from a ton of different people at $13-25 a pop. My little nephew got the packet that I despise the most with the gift wrap and other just because items like candles and ornaments. I will still order from him.

I think a good way to raise money is to do the fall festival and winter carnivals with raffled gift baskets, charge for the food and games and other things like face paint. Also, dances can also be another way to fundraise. These packets are becoming outdated.

Lexi,

I don't blame you one bit. I only order the pizza and cookies. Fortunately I am surrounded by old people down here so no one bothers asking me if I'll buy from their kid. I TOTALLY AGREE with what you said about having a winter canivals/fall festival. :yay:

So it sounds like the Joe Corbis pizza are a good buy. I am only curious as we have a book for them in our office kitchen right now and since I don't have kids, might as well support someone elses, especially if it taste good too. Not wasting money on junk!

If you like pizza you can't go wrong with Corbis. 3 pizzas for like 15 bucks! The Dante's brand pizzas are the ones that you don't want!
