When you say Pax is that the same as Patuxent Elem? If so what did you think of the yearbook last year if you purchased it?

Yes, I meant Patuxent Elementary. I thought the yearbook was pretty good for an elementary school yearbook. It's only Pre-K thru 2nd grade so didn't expect much. Better than expected though.

We don't do the fundraisers in our neighborhood because everyone has a kid. Either I participate and buy myself or I don't. I have two families that came to my door selling - one across the street for church fundraisers - one new group down the street with school fundraisers. When the candle fundraiser hits guess which 2 houses I'm sending my kids to.

I have two kids that want to do it. Only one really understands it and the other one doesn't care. But there is not anything really to even choose from in them this year.

Send your little man over my way. It's only fair you ordered pizza from my baby :yay:

My girls don't even ask to sell the stuff anymore because they know what I'm going to say. They just throw the packets right in the trash.

And I don't write another check to the school either. I spend enough just sending my kids to school. Already this year each of my teens had over 75 bucks in "fees" they had to pay for things like art and engineering classes etc. On top of the who knows how much I've spent on school clothes and supplies to get them started. My bank account is so low right now they're not getting another dime. There isn't one to give.
I had no problem writing a check for LES. I loved that school and it's administration and the school was very interactive with the children with many extracurricular events. I don't write checks for LMS or LHS.

BTW, even when I gave a check directly to the school, I didn't insist my kid get invited to the "big bash" or get junk toys. My kids got over it just fine.

I am happy to hear that :) I actually did alot of the yearbook last year. It was the first one PES had in several years and it took some convincing to get Dr Yates to let us do it. We sold far more then we expected.

I am doing it again this year but this time it will be done online. I am hoping to get parents and teacher help with picture taking. I want more variety this year. I have set up an email for people to send pictures to and I can upload them right to the yearbook. I plan on sending a letter out in the next week or two.

That's cool because I noticed that alot of the same kids had their pictures in the book. Seemed to be that unless you went to an event at the school, there was no chance of getting a picture in there. Look forward to your letter.

Basically a bunch of high priced worthless crap. I have never been able to determine what the schools cut on this is, or what they use the cash for anyway. .

you know if they would sell something Like wooden paddles then you could beat your heathens when you were not spanking your girlfriend

Those were probably my kids you saw over and over :) Seriously though we did take alot of pictures of different events so we missed alot of kids because they were not at the events. Which is why this year I am hoping to have help with the picture taking. I can't be at the school all the time so I miss alot of the classroom stuff. I am hoping between parents and staff to get a larger variety of pictures. I want to be able to have more pictures of the kids in the classrooms and just regular days.

Last year for the 2nd grade page we sent a disposable camera with each class when they went on the field trip which was kind of cool except the pictures stayed really dark.

I would also like to add more pages for the montage pages, but more pages cost more money and we are trying to keep the price as low as possible to make it affordable to more people. Last year we got businesses to sponsor a business card space and that help reduce the cost to the parents. Hopfully we can do the same this year.

I would welcome any suggestions :)

Might be asking too much of the little kids but I think it would be cool if they had a place to sign eachother's yearbooks (atleast their names) like they do in jr high/high school yearbooks. Even though most can't spell worth a darn at that age, it would be cute to look back 20 years later and see what they wrote or who they thought were friends back then.

I thought it was just me who was sick of this. This year I have two who brought it home. I have never worked in an office where SO many people do these for their children. I personally believe they are a bother more than a joy especially to those who don't have children but also to those who have children they are selling for.

I see why offices make it a policy that solicitation is not allowed. Last year (kid you not) I had about 11 orders with people I supported for fundraisers. I purposely planned to bring both of my children's packets in just to see if those same people would support mine like I did theirs. But, I thought about the innocent people who may feel guilty or overwhelmed by the 2 additions this year. Seeing the bigger picture, I left it alone. :ohwell:

Well, I'll be darn if one of them did not just bring me her child's packet today. :jameo:
I don't want to be a bia but I REALLY don't feel like this shiat again. :cussing:

That is all. :flowers:

Exactly, it's a rip off. My oldest actually believed he would win the $ drawing and I told him he would have a better chance of getting that money out of me. :killingme
