morganj614 said:I will be without power for a few more days. SMECO and all the outside help they have brought in are doing a fine job. You cannot predict which trees will fall where when we have wind and rain like we did. SMECO has been here several times helping us with the downed wires.
All electricians are very busy and that is my wait. It'll be a few days but from what I have seen, many have been doing there part. SMECO was on my road at 11 last night and back at 7 a.m.
All the biatching in the world won't get the power on so try to take it in stride. This small generator powers my t.v. and satellite, lights and fans. Or I can plug in the 'puter. Next time Big Lots has $199.00 generators, go buy one.
Nicole_in_somd said:I think I will, I have been thinking about buying one. Are they hard to hook up?
morganj614 said:This is my virgin time and it's very easy. It's a pull start and even that is easy. If you want to run more appliances, invest in a bigger one. This size will make the next few days pass easier.
Somebody just wanted to spread some red around, didn't even bother to comment on mine, just a drive by redding.Nicole_in_somd said:Also to the person who left this
SMECO doesn't know how ... 09-04-2006 03:03 PM Yea, I'm a retard!!
Ummm ok thanks for sharing but I have no clue what you are trying to say. PM me if you have something you want to talk about.
and no I am not an MPD, is that the only thing you can come up with? Anyone that does not write what you want to read is an MPD?
You hate MPD's ???? Not as much as I dislike cowards that cannot say what they want with out hiding.

Angel said:I find it funny that people do not know how to survive without electricity. We were only without power for 3 hours on Friday, but the man and I played cards and really had a good time just enjoying each other company. I was coming up with a million things I could do without the electric. I would have read a book, gotten ice to preserve my food (should the power outage in my area appear to be reaching the 8 hour mark), worked on hobbies that I generally set aside because a TV program has grabbed my interest first, and I made sure I was properly prepared (ie - food and water) before hand. Even though it was not predicted that this Tropical Storm would knock every bodies Power Out, it is only our own fault if we are ill prepared for such Power Outages. How to Deal with a Power Outage
My hat goes off to the folks who have been working their asses off to restore power.
Wildewood didn't go out according to a friend. They were just fine.Nicole_in_somd said:I was wondering the same thing, I thought that WildeWood did and someone told me that they had a lot of outage there too.

Been there, done that.BS Gal said:Well, isn't that just all hunky dorey. Try dealing with 48 hours + without power. Wait till you are here and an ice storm hits and you are without power for a week plus. Then tell us all about reading books, playing games, etc. WAIT until an ice storm.
Bless his heart. He'll have a good paycheck coming, but doesn't count for the time he lost with his family. Believe me, I have worked snowstorms and dealt with people that are mad we haven't been to their neighborhoods. I was a bit cross when I posted last and I apologize for that. I shouldn't have done that. I'm still mad at the radio stations though.Tina2001aniT said:Well the little brother has worked 68 hours and counting since Friday morning
He got home last night after midnight and was out the door by 4 this morning He still isn't home
