There is enabling and there is tough love..
You are getting the tough love unless someone here is gonna pay your bills for you..that is enabling.
You learn from friends who give tough love...
If people do things for you..you never learn.
OK?

LOL, still? No?

I'm so mad...my kid just called me and said that they came home and there was no electric. Sure enough, I call SMECO and they said they cut off my electric cuz they didn't get my check.

I told them I sent the check in the mail last week. Why did they cut my power off?

Anyone have any suggestions?

Speaking of electric - has anyone noted a significant increase in their bill or is it just my teenage daughter leaving her tunes on all day playing for the dogs left in the house while everyone is away??????

You should do what I do. Run a parallel line to the power line. The inductance will create enough power to run most of your appliances, but not all at once. Free electric!

I already do something like that with the pool house electric. Hopefully the neighbors don't notice the trench I dug from my pool house to their electric box. I couldn't imagine what my bill would be if I had to pay for that pump running all the time. :faint:

Shew! I made it just before they shut the doors. Now I just hope the check doesn't bounce. :jameo:

I'm off to drop the girls off to get their mani/pedis while I go tan, and then get some dinner. I'm thinking Asahi. Thanks Kwillia, for letting them use your facilities. Ours should be back up by the time we get home! :howdy:

Oz

You're all F'in Mad...
The rate is 20% higher than this time last year.

But SMECO is doing a good job at controlling costs, I think. BG&E just filed for a 45% rate increase and the poor folks they service are already paying rates about 60% higher than ours. :ohwell:

All these folks who bought the big houses that were built here in the last 5 years are really going to feel it because energy charges aren't likely to decrease for years.

And the news said Milk prices are going to double too...
