I believe you have issues with your dots then. Yours, my dear, is blue.
Huh. I just learned something.

The dots look blue to you because, as far as you're concerned, invisible people aren't online. But I see them as red dots - online and invisible - because of my mod privs.

(I see invisible people....)

Glad to have been of assistance.

Attention Charles County residents:

VOTE!

You either are or are not in favor of the smoking ban in Charles County. The Commissioners apparently approved this unanimously.

Vote for or against them accordingly.

I live in Charles and plan on voting against all 5 of our current crop of County Commissioners!

Amen to that!!! Another fine example of "democracy" run amok.

With all the problems in Charles County-crime, traffic, overcrowding and the inability to cope with the rapid influx of population, these goobers (county commissioners) have more important things to consider than smoking.

How about the emissions from all the traffic backed up in Waldorf everyday because these bozos can't get the traffic lights on 301 or 5 synchronized?

So, instead of dealing with real crime, the local constabulary will be writing tickets to people and establishments who don't observe another unnecessary law.

Vote 'em all out, regardless of political stripe!

Not only concerning themselves with smoking, but let's look at their other brilliant ideas. They can't afford to do anything for the schoold in Charles, but they can afford millions of dollars for baseball stadiums and ice skating rinks? Makes no sense to me!

Exactly. Plus, I love Piney Church Rd. I can't imagine ruining it with the stadium. It really sucks.

And how close is the stadium going to be to the current landfill? Not very far as a crow flies, but that's going to smell real good on those hot August games!

Plus, who wants the dayum stadium anyway? Not I.

I don't mind the stadium so much, but if Maryland Baseball, LLC wants the stadium, let them pay for it. I shouldn't be paying for it with my tax dollars.

The real issue

vraiblonde said:
Smokers vs. non-smokers is immaterial. The REAL contest is people who think the government can tell business owners what legal activity they can and cannot allow in their establishment vs. those who do not.

I know this is late to the party, but smoking in establishments is a hot button issue for me.

The real issue is that none of us likes the idea of the government telling any of us what activity (legal or otherwise) we can and cannot do when it's an issue that's important to us as individuals. Otherwise, we generally could care less.

Most of us are suspicious of that entity we call "the Government's" motivations for imposing legislation, no matter what the subject of that legislation might be. Even when it's an issue that has little to no affect on us personally, there is still that unease that the more laws the Government lays on us, the more control they have over us, and around and 'round that merry-go-round goes.
