I'm special - I don't fall under DOT rules!
But seriously, someone made a comment on my last YouTube video concerning DOT regs - maybe it was you. But we are driving pickup trucks and farm tractors, so not sure why people think we would have to follow DOT rules. These modes of transportation are exempt as far as I know, unless someone can show me otherwise. But it boggles my mind that a: that one of the things the average citizen is concerned about during a snowstorm(firestorm as well) is the snowplow operators following DOT regs, and b: that DOT would even stop a snowplow truck driver (or firetruck) and check his log books and emissions. I would imagine there are exemptions in natural disaster situations like this, but it is government we are talking about so who knows. Hell, when I'm out plowing, I don't usually stop at stop signs or red lights. If it's 2am and I'm headed down 235 with a load of salt and plow on my pickup and nothing is coming, I'm going thru the red light - ain't got time to stop - gotta make sure y'all can get to work in the morning!
