See, I'm the opposite. I have enjoyed having this to watch as opposed to all of the political crap that just gets me mad. I consider it a break. I love Johnny Depp as an actor, but what a mess. I am glad to see someone stand up against "Me Too" but having to make the choice to let all of this personal information out just to not be labeled a wife beater would take a toll. This will not affect me in any way but I do hope he wins.

I am not a big fan of JD, I am just *meh* about him, and I never heard of Amber Heard (Turd) before all this. Now, my other half is a fan of JD and is watching the trial, so I have caught sections of the trial here and there. The one thing that is crystal clear is JD drinks/drank too much and dabbled, often, in drug use. I think she dabbled as well, even though she denies that she did with JD. He doesn't deny any of his drug and alcohol behavior at all, but he does deny that he ever beat AH.

There are many audio recordings where JD is saying he isn't going to stick around and would leave when AH got violent. JD says that is why he left for days at a time. AH claims she covered up busted lips, a broken nose, black eyes with make-up. So far, she has provided zero proof that she was ever abused by JD. AH just began getting cross examined today and she is already looking foolish. I think it is going to be very interesting to see what a jury is going to do with all this.

On a side note, when AH described the first time she said JD hit her, she said she laughed. She wasn't sure he really hit her. I felt it screamed BS. She wasn't married to him at the time, only dating him. I dated and lived with a man who hit me when I was very young. All I kept thinking was girl, if you were hit, you would know it and wouldn't find it funny. One day when he was piss drunk, I packed up my shi! and left. After that, he went on and had several relationships, marriages, that resulted in DV charges. Nobody has ever claimed DV with JD before AH.

Even Ike didn't beat Tina's arse until after they were married so when somebody hits you and you are just dating, like she claims, you leave. You don't wait it out and marry them. What's love got to do with it? Nothing at all, but I am starting to believe AH saw nothing but dollar signs and opportunity with JD.

P.S. the ONLY things I know about this whole deal is what has made it into the news blips - (and there are WAY TOO MANY), the memes on FB (disgusting, now that the crap thing is out there) and headlines of other online posts. Which adds up to way freaking more than I care about. So, I usually change over to one of my happy places like HGTV or FOOD network. OR I watch American Idol when that's on.

I haven't watched much of this at all. My personal opinion, I think after she wrote the op-ed (not using his name) which got him fired from his POC movies, he just decided "game on, challenge accepted" when it came to all of this. His reputation was already tanked, so why not. I think she is looking like a complete loony nutter and her reputation is now also blown out of the water. I did chuckle when he was testifying and the question was asked, "Did you try and control her career?" His response, "How do you think she got Aquaman?" Me ->

Same thing with bigots - they'll always be that way. It's why when I hear an accusation of abuse or racism, I find out that it's either something they've been accused of OFTEN - or NEVER - and THAT more than anything else fixes my opinion on them.

When someone has never ever been charged with abusing someone - and it suddenly arises from someone who is clearly bat-chit crazy - tend to go with "not an abuser". Ditto bigot or racist - when someone calls another person a racist - and it's a NEW accusation against say, a public figure of many decades - tend to think the charge is specious.

I'm a few years younger than JD (he's almost 60 now) and if he was some awful abuser, I think this would have been known by now.

Abusers tend to mellow with age.

AH is off the stand for now. Next to take the stand is some "friend" clown of Ambers that looks like he lives in a trailer behind the Texaco station with several other buddies and uses burner phones.

He was already asked if he witnessed Amber being abused and he said "no." Instead, he is yapping non-stop about JD's drug and alcohol use. Umm, we've already established that he has a substance abuse history.

The memes about him are going to be off the chain this evening. I'm starting to think he is the one who crapped on JD's bed. He is a strange dude.

If this is the best AH has as far as witnesses, she's forked.

Is it normal practice for couples to record so many of their conversations and interactions? It seems like there is a very large number of seemingly "private" conversations being played for the world to hear.

I've never recorded conversations with my husband. Perhaps because he's never hit me, nor do I have a desire to air my dirty laundry.
