So now what for Trump?

The corrupt GOP doesn't like DeSantis any more than they liked Trump. They only like squishies who will play money laundering games with them - they don't want anyone who actually takes their job seriously and has the best interests of the People in mind. And the Demcult absolutely hates his guts and take every opportunity to make chit up about him and go apeshit.

DeSantis is only more electable now because he's not in the running. The second he throws his hat in the ring, the games will begin. And then the folksies on here who hate Trump and say DeSantis is much better will hate DeSantis with a burning passion.

Watch and see. They'll do what the TV tells them to do.
We've seen it time and again, and people keep forgetting this time and again.

They ask me why I don't drink. 🤦

Yesterday was a wake up call for republicans, imo. That was a train wreck. Yesterday should have been a red wave much like in Clinton and Obama's first terms. Maybe even more given how inept Biden has been. I believe republicans need to learn two things, and if they don't then they risk failing again next time.

First, they need to get over this superstar like love affair they have with Donald Trump. Nothing wrong with liking Trump or his agenda, but they need to realize he is to democrats what Hillary Clinton is to republicans. He insures maximum turnout, and he brings his own baggage within his own party and independents. I don't know if DeSantis will run or not, but if he does republicans should get behind him early and start a wave of their own with him. His policies are almost identical to Trump's so what is the problem? DeSantis can also do something no other republican can do, he WILL win a majority of the Latino vote. Democrats cannot win on a national level if the republican candidate wins a majority of the white, latino, and independent vote.

Second, they need to tone down the abortion bans. Find some common ground. Maybe settle on a 15 or 16 week limit or something. The abortion issue is not going away and going down the road of a total ban is just turning people away from the republican party. The other issues on the economy, crime, taxes, republicans win hands down. I don't see the logic of continuing to die on the hill of total bans. Just giving ammunition to the other side when it has so little.

Just my opinion, but I want to win and slow down the progressive agenda. Republicans have under performed in three straight election cycles. It's time to reverse that with some new blood and maybe a few new ideas. And I don't pledge any allegiance to any politician other than those that I feel give me the best chance to win. And personally I believe that if he chooses to run, that man is Ron DeSantis.

When you try to over throw the government because you lost an election you can expect most law abiding citizens to lose confidence in you. Especially after taking Top Secret documents home with you and refusing to give them back.

Trump is toast and all the big money donors will now give their money to Desantis.

Trump has lost everything he has touched. Twice impeached. Lost the house and senate under his presidency and lost 2020.

He is a losing loser. He will announce his intention to run again in hopes it keeps the FBI from indicting him but there is way too much evidence against him for that to make a difference.
Twice aquitted, that makes Clinton half as good.

Nothing wrong with liking Trump or his agenda, but they need to realize he is to democrats what Hillary Clinton is to republicans.

Let me point out that ALL Republicans who get some attention are to Democrats like Hillary Clinton is to Republicans. Perhaps you don't remember the Bush years, but I do. Ronald Reagan - I remember that as well. There hasn't been a Republican President in my lifetime that wasn't absolutely eviscerated by the Democrats and their media mouthpieces.

They've been raking the living chit out of Ron DeSantis in anticipation of him running. If he does run for President it will make the way they went after Trump look like a love affair.

Any Republican who shows promise gets attacked. Especially if they aren't part of the gang. Even more especially if traditional Democrat pets - racial minorities, women, gays - are giving them a second look.

If you think there's some magical Republican who can make the vicious filthy corrupt sociopath Democrats play nice....I don't even know what to say about that.

Second, they need to tone down the abortion bans.

Abortion hasn't been banned. It's been kicked back to the states where it belongs, per our US Constitution.

Let me repeat that:

ABORTION HASN'T BEEN BANNED.

Lay off the MSNBC and you'd be better informed.

Republicans have under performed in three straight election cycles. It's time to reverse that with some new blood and maybe a few new ideas.

That new blood was Trump. So apparently you don't want new blood, you want a Democrat because that's the only person the Democrats and the media will be nice to.

And I don't pledge any allegiance to any politician other than those that I feel give me the best chance to win. And personally I believe that if he chooses to run, that man is Ron DeSantis.

Ahem. Trump did win. Then folks like you decided that since the Democrats hated him, you hated him too. And I have no doubt the exact same thing will happen with DeSantis. The Democrats will tell you to hate him, and you will obey.

When Trump took office the Republicans had the House AND the Senate....and those pieces of sh*t did nothing but try and derail him for two years before they were finally kicked out (or in the case of McCain, died and went to Hell).

At what point do you intend to get over Trump? Ever? He hasn't been President for two years, and he wasn't on any ballot yesterday. And yet here you are with the TDS.

Abortion is a States Rights Issue now ... Congress is never passing a Federal Abortion Bill

Otherwise Nancy and Chuck would have done it already

but Truthfully Democrats have been CLAIMING Abortions Bans when NOBODY on the GOP Side ever mentioned Abortion

they hit Romney with that when he ran

And called Rosie O'Donnell a bad name - don't forget that one.

GD, that man is evil! I'm sure we're all glad to pay twice as much for gas and groceries just so we don't have to see Rosie insulted. Billions to Ukraine? Yes please, as long as Rosie is safe!

Have you noticed the entire world is paying twice as much for goods and services. Do you believe Biden control's the world economy?

Why exactly are you against protecting Ukraine from on of our biggest enemies Russia?

Did you forget when Trump tried to steal the 2020 election and stole our countries most sensitive nuclear secrets?

Not to mention lied about covid and got hundreds of thousands of americans killed?

What policies do you think the party can enact to entice voters to vote for them?

At the end of the day that is the most important thing and that is what is not connecting with voters. The party platform in 2020 was "whatever Trump wants". The rest of the time all i hear from Republicans is making Dems out to be evil groomer pedophiles. I don't see a lot of new ideas or anything that drives younger people to get out and vote. A party that wants to turn back the clock on peoples civil rights and personal freedoms and has spent years trying to take away their health care and has floated doing away with social security is going to have a hard time appealing to a broad spectrum of the public. What policies would you enact? A 15 week abortion allowance is going to divide the party even more between the crazy evangelicals who want a total ban and the more reasonable parts of the party. Ding anything to alienate the evangelicals is a no go as they are one of the largest voting blocks who reliably turn up anymore.
