So....TP?

Now that we are a couple months in... I'm thinking the group searching for TP now is the group that stocked up in the beginning and are looking to replenish supplies. The cycle will keep repeating itself.
Not all. I still had plenty when this all started and I was living alone. One week in, that changed and now we are two and I am teleworking, so I'm home all day while he goes and does his thing. He had to "shop" at his sons house for a 6-pack to replenish our low stash a week or so ago. I finally found a 6-pack at Aldi's on Saturday (thanks to sisters phone call for the heads up) to replenish that when it runs out. It's actually become a game for us to see if we can actually find any when we go to any of the stores we shop at.

Went into both Food Lion and Dollar General today and didn't even think to look for any. I have a supplier now, so when Mommy Dearest starts to run, hopefully he'll be able to hook me up again. I'm still on roll #2 since this whole thing started, so I can make do with the industrial paper for now.

Probably because most people poop during the daytime, not when sleeping. And many of those people pooped at work. And businesses by and large use industrial crap-ass toilet paper that isn't sold in normal stores.

So until the manufacturers that make the plush home use TP can catch up, or the commercial TP people switch over to home use style (and make supply agreements with stores) there's going to be a shortage (of probably 15-25%). Combined with the hoarding in the beginning makes people snap up every roll that hits the shelves.

That's exactly what a lady at Giant said to me when I mentioned it. Not a LOT more, but just enough to wipe out (pun intended) the supply.

Same thing with laundry, dish detergent, quick lunch type food - more people at home, more dishes to clean, more quick foods for lunches.
More cleaning so - fewer cleaning supplies. It's not so much HOARDING - it was at the beginning - but if nationwide demands increase a bit - it will create shortages.

Lowe's finally got some in yesterday, 8 rolls for $20 of a no name brand.
Sold out, but supposedly more on order of the same.

BJs in California has plenty. Get there early and TP, Paper Towels, Bleach are all available. And they haven't reached the point of "bend over and grab your ankles" on the price either.

Weis in Lusby was restocking the shelves with TP around 5pm tonight. Thought about grabbing a pack but we finally got our 24 pack delivered a few days ago so didn't really need it. I will probably regret not getting one eventually.

The few times my wife has been to Weis in Callaway, they've been out of TP and paper towels. She usually goes there in the late afternoon on her way home from wherever she's been. I'm guessing if you want TP, you need to be there early in the morning.

Yep. Did my Leonardtown Food Lion shopping before 8 am Saturday morning and they had both when I first got there (always hit that aisle first) but were out by the time I walked past that section on my way zig-zagging through. BTW if you wanted the premium Charmin (the kind red bears use to wipe their butts) the cost of a Mega Roll 6-pak was on sale at 13.99.

They had plenty of flour, big bags and regular. The shelf was still almost empty but compared to the past weeks it was better. There were a couple of different brands too. No bread flour just self- rising and plain. Didn't notice the cup o noodles shelf but the soups were well stocked. There were no chicken breasts just thighs, wings and drumsticks. Hardly any pork, just shoulders. Plenty of beef but was very expensive.

Scored at Giant in Lusby. Two 18 rolls of TP and two 2 packs of paper towels. We really needed the paper towels. Down to our last roll and now with kitties who don't always make it to the potty box.
