So what are the good SoMD restaurants now?

I don't think you'll be disappointed. The last time I was in there, the food was cooked to perfection. It's not gourmet, but it doesn't swim in grease like some seafood places. I hope you find it as satisfying as I have. Very casual dining and good food.:yay:
I thank you, too.

Pat Wathen is good people too...one of my guys works on restaurant equipment on the side and Pat is one of his friends/customers.
I went to college at Norwich in the late 70's. As I recall, one of our senior class officers was a John Wathen.

Didn't see any one mentioned either Charles Street Brasserie or Bugeye Grill
Been to Charles Street Brasserie several times and it was very good. Will be going to Bugeye Grill this weekend and will report back.

Love CD Café, The Front Porch, Sweetbay, Island Hideaway, Blue Wind, Bollywood, Lotus Kitchen, and Ruddy Duck (Solomons).

Last time I was at The Lighthouse the food was disappointing.

Yep. Not bad, just nothing that makes us want to go again. And the atmosphere, which before the fire was classy and intimate, is now just basic open-concept over-lighted too-loud bar. Yelling at my wife to be heard over the crowd and music is not how I want to spend our date nights.

It's been ages since I've had any authentic German dishes. Now I definitely have to go.
I've been told that the German food at Pax River Ale House is pretty good. My Greeks also gave their Greek food a :yay: but it just needed more lemon.

I've not been impressed with the Ale House. Haven't been there in quite a few years now, maybe they've gotten better. If I remember right, even their common sides, like fries were just eh.

Found my original comments.

The Gardiner's never had a problem keeping it going. But their menu was always very simple.

That's a good part of it, I think. That said, when Tracey still owned and ran it, their brunch was the only thing we hit regularly. That's real close to you, right? For us, it's faster by water.

A friend took me there for my birthday in November for their weekly Surf-n-Turf special. The whole Maine lobster is now half a spiny lobster. The steak was okay but overcooked. Green beans were way overcooked. The only bright spot was dessert: a pumpkin-caramel-chocolate cake that was wonderful.
