I don't particularly like turkey but TG is nostalgic for me, From as far back as I can remember(gotta dial up Mr Peabody's WayBack machine), my father always did the turkey and I helped him. Preparing the turkey, making the stuffing, checking, basting..Always remember my father saying while stuffing the turkey, if you think it's full and you're done, you're only half way there..I guess that's why they call it stuffing. It will be cold by Thanksgiving. YW.
Maybe try and cook it differently? Rather than roasting whole, I like to cut it in half, season it and put it on a high rack on the BBQ grill, indirect heat. Done in an hour and a completely different taste than oven roasted. Cut the breast off the bone and cut it in medallions instead of the typical long slices that dry out and get cold fast.I don't particularly like turkey but TG is nostalgic for me,
Where we are eating starts about 2.30My son returns to 29 Palms this Sunday, we will meet him in Vegas tues night or wed morning after he is released for a 96. Thanksgiving Dinner will be at The Baccanal Buffett at Caesars...
As I said, I don't particularly like turkey..I've cooked it every way you can..best one was brined in something like Kwillia's recipe above, and I got rave reviews for that. But TG is for roasting and that's what I do....I'm happy with cheeseburgers and cheezits most of the time..Maybe try and cook it differently? I always get rave reviews when I do that for the family.
Frozen Ding Dongs were the best when I was preggers!Fried turkey spam with French fries and ding dongs for dessert.
My fav as a kid. They used to be huge, like 4 inches round and 10 cents each. Then they went to 12 cents. Then they came out with Mini Ring Dings, two to a pack. Then magically, Mini Ring Dings became the regular Ring Dings, no more 4 inch ones, and the cream inside wasn't the same.Frozen Ding Dongs were the best when I was preggers!

I bought the new smaller Pit Boss this summer, I have yet to take it out of the box.Wow. I have one too. I might buy a small turkey JUST to try that!
I know you hate me, but take this.
put some $$ on 17 on any of the Caesar’s roulette wheels, if that misses, step away and try 22 later. I have lots of vices, gambling is one, it’s all in good fun, but it’s a trill when they hit.
I haven’t been back since all of the insanity, but my first trip is coming in January. If you see a 70 year old lady at the craps table at Aria, having a Manhattan at 11am, say hi to me after I make the point.
For over a decade I only played roulette, it’s easy, I’d put up $1k and they’d bring me champagne for 6 hours, I loved it.Lol.. Shes the gambler, i'm the watcher.
Last year my son and I were watching the craps table and one of the casino bosses ( retired Marine) showed him how to play, he listened and was up 6-7 hundred when he walked away.
I'm there to tit watch and the free comps...
The negative is you have to have a high buy in, for a $25 dollar table it’s gotta be $500. And if you have two bad shooters it’s gone in 10 mins, but if you get me (lol) or someone who knows what they’re doing you’ll have a lot of fun. Have you rolled? Always great to get a first timer at the table.I always watch the craps table or watch in the high stakes room...
