Southern Maryland closed restaurants

How many have opened and closed just in the old Perkins location in Wildwood?
Several

There was a southwestern place in San Soucci - Baja or something like that.
I believe ti was owned by the same people who ran Broome Howard for a while (now gone btw).

Same questin would apply to the restuarants that are in the Wildewood retirement village - Tavern, La Tabala, ?

Looks like Mom and Pops Pizza is gone

There was a chinese restuarant where Monterey is now.

But the restuarant business is tough, it's hard work and low margin.

Because of location, I would guess getting fresh ingredients is tough as well. I remember talking to the IGA manager about his problems getting truckers to deliver. Not enough volume to warrant a one way trip.

Fast Food and other chain restuarants don't have that problem, most of the food comes prepackaged / frozen. The corporation manages the shipping and there is economy in mubers i.e. this Olive Garden is one of dozens in Maryland alone.

That old Bambino's in Lexington Park had this sassy waitress that was a strange mix of perky yet opinionated... wonder whatever happened to her...

Kind of depressing to think about those establishments that have shut their doors down. I'm glad we have access to the Outbacks and Cracker Barrells of the world but St. Mary's County has lost its identity with these mom and pops closures.

Halfway House

Hill's Club

That little restaurant on the Hill, before San Souci was built

At least they will always be remembered
