What?? There is no sitting space there..its nothing but a carry-out setup and a tiny one at that.

I saw Chuck was recently drilling a new well there too...

I thought it was weird when I saw the announcement as it seems like quite a step back for them. I haven't seen Curtis in awhile to talk to him so I don't know what the scoop is.

I would suspect they are after the location... wanting to capture more of the base lunch/dinner crowd.

The only stretch of time that place ever managed to hang was when Jockey and his crew did the fried chicken and "everything else" carry-out thing. Their chicken was rockin good. But that was long ago ...

Maybe Curtis has decided the mobile chuckwagon part of the business is where the money is. ??

I've always had good food and service there.

Not sure where you got Capt. Pat's from as they're moving to the old Knott's Kitchen.
The post said 'then became Pat's Seafood'... I assumed Pat was a captain... If you recall I don't eat seafood so all these seafood places are confusing to me...:wr:

You are correct. Cap'nt Pat is indeed a captain and a waterman and has been all his life. He and a couple other guys like Greg (H. Gass Seafood) tried to add the retail angle to their business portfolios some years back. Its a tough row to hoe.

Okay, I see that now and don't remember ever going to it when it was Pat's Seafood.

I do remember Knott's Kitchen had some banging fried chicken but be prepared to wait a LONG time as it was cooked to order.

Maybe, but I doubt it. Last time I talked to Curtis was right before the fire and then only briefly but I got the impression business was good. It will be interesting to see how the move pans out but I personally don't think it's a good idea as they have much more visibility on Route 5.

.

Back then I was working on Great Mills Rd...and live on the island as I still do. So it was easy peasy to make the call and time the pickup so the barrel of chikin was ready about the minute I drove by. If it was behind schedule..I'd just go have a beer at Abell's.:coffee:

I thought rustic river was supposed to reopen? no?

The Rustic River thread got me thinking of how many restaurants have failed in this area.

Friendly's
Arby's
Roost
Taste of india
Roy Rogers
Three brothers pizza
Arizona pizza
Damians
Chicken coop

I know I haven't thought of a quarter of them

This is really more of a "opening again soon" post...but I'm looking forward to the restaurant at Dennis Point Marina re-opening this coming year. I know the food will finally be good there again.:yahoo:
