I'd venture the guess, something like Old Fashioned, Olive or Veal Loaf, but some sort of mystery meat "brined" in BBQ sauce.

It is a very impressive facility indeed. Wife and I have known the Thomas' for quite a few years; we've both taken numerous courses given by them, since way before the range was built. We donated some of the "decorations" on the wall in the retail area, in fact.
My wife and I are members there and have taken a couple of classes. VERY impressed with the range, the Thomas' and their crew.

I can't believe you've never heard of BBQ loaf. It is served at all fine grocery store deli counters. Kunzler was the brand we had back in the day I had a grocery store.

I remember my mom getting bbq loaf at the store when I was young. Came pre-packaged, like Oscar Mayer I believe.

Part of getting older that I hate. Seems I get heartburn now from all the things I used to enjoy. Tums is making bank on me.
I used to get heartburn from everything when I was drinking. I went on a low carb Atkins-like diet one time for several months and it cleared up. The company that makes Rolaids almost went under that year.

I rarely get hb now, but keep Tums handy just in case. I thought for sure that the Tyson spicy chicken patties were gonna get me bad, but twice I've had them with no ill effect. First bite is always "Woe Nellie!", but they seem to get milder after about 3 bites. :yay:

Although the meats may have been dubious,...I seem to remember some amazing sandwiches made with some oddly titled meats such as these...wouldn't mind a return to those club sandwiches!
