Standing up for our Faith

I didn't get any further than this before I had to interject.... News Flash.... You're not Jesus dude so why the hell would you even try to preach like him or think that you have the authority to tell people they're going to hell? PEOPLE are what turn other people away from belief of that I am sure. Why the hell anyone wants to be part of some culture that you can never be good enough for is beyond me. And before you point fingers and try to accuse me of being a hell bound heathen let me say that I absolutely believe in God and have plenty of faith. If at any time anyone wants to talk to me about it I talk to them openly and from the heart, my heart; not some book of half fairy tales and years of what God's other followers have shoved down my throat.

I wouldn't worry too much about ItalianS. I am happy that he is a fellow Christian but it does irk me a little that he thinks he knows all the answers and no one else on this planet does. With all the millions of religious people on this planet and thousands of religions to choose from, this guy thinks he is right and no one else can be. I think I'd rather talk to one of those door to door Mormons or Witnesses for a couple of hours. Talking to ItalianS would probably just piss me off. It's the condescending approach that bothers me the most.

I'm not angry at all dude, quite the contrary. I'm secure enough in myself and my own personal faith that I don't have to damn others that don't see things the way I do. Good luck with your quest to change the world, it's not going to happen and you'll probably do more harm than good. I've never watched Oprah by the way. :yay:
But Pixie, God says to "always be ready with an answer for the hope that lies within you". All I want is to know about your "hope"...
If you or anyone on this forum can show me where Jesus ONLY shared kind sweet loving words with people then I will too. Trust me lady, He damned a planetful of people with just His words. John the Baptist preached fire & brimstone too, FYI.

Do you condemn me for knowing more about the Bible & God than most people on here?
Do you NOT see my concern for your souls or do you just see hatred as the lost people do?
I never said I know it all nor did I say that I know more than anyone else on this planet. I happen to be very knowledgeable on this subject and I care enough to share it with you people.
Jesus knew everything and cared enough to share His knowledge with people and they killed Him for it. They were very similar to some of you on here. They had their beliefs and wanted no one to counter them (wrong as they were). Now they're forever lost and hating life.
My words are no more harsh than His. The problem is that many of you have your own personal theology (as they did) and will never admit you might be in danger (as they did).
I hear he's ugly and his mama dresses him funny. :killingme
Wow, that's very Christ like.
How can a woman who died 2 years ago dress me funny?

God talks to you personally and tells you his will? Damn dude, you're pretty lucky. I wish he talked to me like that.

The later was a joke, lighten up. :bigwhoop:

Your best bet is to tell her that you'll pray for her. You should even put her on your church's prayer list. :yay:

So, what happens to the POPE when he dies? Is he saved?

None of us know the state of his soul. We can only venture a guess by the kind of man he is, but only God knows his heart.

Personally though, I think he's a very faithful servant of God.

It seems this entire exchange exemplifies how well-received condemnation is.

"Judge not, lest ye be judged".

"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."

GOT-CHA!:yahoo:

The Bible tells me very clearly that God will guide me through my life so why shouldn't He speak to me? I could give you many examples of how He has guided and protected me in the past.
I'm still waiting to hear about yours...:tap:

OUCH! That was the wrong thing to tell her. Didn't you read her "shoving it down her throat" post???
So, what happens to the POPE when he dies? Is he saved?
Hard to say with him but idol worship is high on the list of God's pet peaves...
The Pope is no different than any other man in the world. He has to come to Christ the same way any Christian does. If he holds the RCC teachings over Jesus words, he won't make it.
Again, with some people, it's easy to tell if they're saved (mainly by what they tell me they believe in) but with others it's best left up to God for the call.
All I'm sayin' is that I want to make perfectly clear what the method is to get there.

What if your interpretation of the bible is wrong? That's why there are so many different denominations of Christians now. Every group interprets the book a little differently.

So, the POPE won't be going to heaven and YOU definitely will. How sure are you? Believe what you will but I think YOU are wrong. I think you'll go to heaven but so will others whose interpretations might be slightly different than yours. As I see it, there is no way YOU can know. You may think you do, but you really don't. Good luck with all that.

Anyone that asserts they know who is going to heaven and who isn't has lost the meaning. And this is the judgement I was talking about.

I have studied several religions from Catholicism to Adventism. I have learned some important truths. Across Old and New Testaments it calls for us to be “doers of the word.” That is an extremely tall order that man can only strive to achieve. God talks to us in the quiet space of our life. It works best when your mind and heart are open. Take this challenge, quiet yourself away from life distractions, and read a section of the Bible. Personally I like Paul’s Epistles, say First Timothy. As you read the text only focus on God, the word, and how it applies to yourself. After reading, reflect on what it means to you and how you will become a “doer of the word.” If you focused on just yourself you should hear something, and don’t cave into guilt, that’s not the message. That is a trick, after all Paul was chief of sinners. The next day practice what you have learned, and the world will be a better place.

I can assure you, my interpretation is NOT wrong. You're the one with the inability to understand it. If you did understand it, you wouldn't make such wrong statements. Yes, the Bible DOES get interpreted wrong, I'll give you that, but that's only because people mis-interpret it by trying to make verses stand alone; (out of context).
And, I didn't say (here we go again) that your pope wasn't going to Heaven now did I? I said: "It's hard to say but IF (certain conditions weren't met) he wouldn't. The same conditions that ANY person must meet to be saved. Learn to read before you put words in my mouth. This might be why you can't understand the Bible.
You are soooo typical! You need to stop repeating the lies you've been taught and read the Bible to find the truth. Tell me what you think this verse means after you called The Apostle John a liar:
"I write these things to you who believe so that you may KNOW that you have eternal life..." 1 John 5 v 13.
Now, go ahead and tell me what the RCC has told you & Libby.
How awful your life must be to have such a wrong concept of salvation. How could anyone live each day hoping, yet WONDERING if they were going to Heaven.
Anyone that asserts they know who is going to heaven and who isn't has lost the meaning. And this is the judgement I was talking about.
Apparently, you have blinders on too. You need to read the ENTIRE Bible because your statement is dead wrong.
We can't know everyone's eternal destiny, I agree, but we can know about some by what they tell us and their actions. A God & Jesus different than the Bible's God & Jesus means they're not gonna make it. Look at how Jesus chastized the Jews. They believed in the "God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob" but not in Jesus. He said they would NOT make it to Heaven because of that. Can I not assume this about others for the same reason? OK?
Now there are 2 meanings for "judging". One is wrong in God's eyes and one isn't. Read up on them in the Gospels. As for me, I WILL be sure to challenge people about who their God & Jesus are. It's that important.
I can't see how anyone wouldn't want to share their salvation experience with everyone who asks. It's when they don't that I'd be willing to bet they have a different God & Jesus. This is what worries me about Pixiegirl when she refused me earlier.
How would you like to meet your friends on Judgment Day and they say to you (right before they're cast into Hell): "if you knew that I believed in a different Jesus why didn't you confront me about it??? Some friend"! Think about that before you mention judging. I prefer to think that I'm trying to get the truth out or "clarify it" rather than judge. Once I hear what they believe, then I watch for the "fruit".
I often confront people on this issue just because there are so many lying, false teachers masquerading as truth teachers today who teach a different Jesus.
I led a Mormon girl out of the Mormon church many years ago just by challenging her beliefs about Jesus. Imagine if I had assumed she was saved because she said so.
So, you go ahead and be passive & non-judgmental and take everyone who says they're going to Heaven at their word. I'll continue doing what I do.:yay:
