George was the Assistant Store Manager, one would think he'd have the discretion as to whom he gives a discount.

Pops :patriot:

I have worked retail...people make mistakes bigger than this- hell, the last two days I have been in there they have mischarged me- the same thing wasn't the same price two days in a row- I think I was overcharged, but who can tell-Since I don't tip them because their coffee so expensive I didn't worry about it.

However, 50 cents? Something else is going on here I bet. Usually, we would go in on the weekends and when George was there he was always so happy and very outgoing and friendly- last time we saw him, he was really unhappy- I didn't know him well enough to know what happened, but there must be another story to this.

A "barista" is the official title of a Starbucks employee who has passed training and a basic test.

 Hard to believe this thread has gone on for so long, but it's very amusing! Just think about all those poor souls around here who have lost a job recently, no one is championing their cause. It's enough to bring tears to the eye of all concerned, sensitive individuals.

I only buy ground or whole bean from them so I'm not in the shop long enough to meet any thieving "Barristas"! I need some yuks, maybe next time I'll order one of those gey "ghey" lattes and hang a bit................................... Naaa!

If you make minimum wage for making coffe, even if it has some schmantsy name like "mocha half caf double decaf caf and a half-grande" You do not deserve to have a fancy schmantsy title like "Barista". Hell Mr. Coffe is just a "Mister" and he can make 12 cups at a time and have it waiting for you when you get up, no line.
 This title thing could very well get out of hand. Just think, soon your favorite hooker will be insisting that she deserves to be referred to as an "Assista" or maybe even a "Poosista"!

We must put a stop to this, and soon!

I had not finished looking.

This one doesn't count because I did not say "ghey" it was in the quote. http://forums.somd.com/showthread.p...ghey#post584656

This one doesn't count because I was replying and did not call something/someone "ghey" only using the term "ghey" because they used it.

http://forums.somd.com/showthread.p...ghey#post790976

Guilty of the rest, HOWEVER some could be argued as reasonable use of "ghey"

.......

SO, you could reasonably say I used the term of my own free will 10 times in the last 12 months, that is including the 2 today, or less than 1 per month.
Pete, please accept my apology for mistakenly saying that you were overly stating the word "ghey". Clearly it was wrong for me to say something like that without doing some research to confirm or deny my observation. I am sorry. Apparently, there are a LOT of people on the forums who use that word, though.

This has to be the gheyest of apologies I've ever seen!

But the apology was, indeed, sincere. I'm not afraid to admit when I'm wrong.

Since coffee is somewhat part of this thread...

Just curious...has anyone out there tried the new coffee place in Leonardtown? I think it's called Brewing Grounds or something like that. I have heard a couple of good things about them, but haven't had a chance to go and try it myself. Has anyone?

Thanks! :peace:

I don't know where those are.
Do you know where Cafe des Artistes is, on the corner of the square, across from BofA? They are right down the street.

I believe next to David's Flowers and North End Gallery. They had a pretty cool TV ad in the Food Network.
