Subsidy gone wrong

I'm sure my buddy with the van might take issue with your "no active enforcement" claim..LOL.
Your buddy is one person who got pinged years ago. The people I see are MANY and one the road every single day. I would say at least 3-4 every day locally. Just because there is a ticket to be had for doing it does not mean people are gonna stop. Like red light runners. Happens every.. single.. day!

I'm kinda weird about obeying traffic and vehicle registration laws.

But I realize there are lots of folks like you that freely ignore them.

Had an older Cutlass that I put historic tags on, got pulled over 3 times (all by State boys) in the 2 years I had the tags on it. Never used it as a daily, just took it out every 2,3 weeks to run it. Never got a tix but did have to show a oil change receipt once from the previous year with mileage to compare with the current mileage to get out of getting a tix. 200 miles in 9 months, cop insisted he saw me driving the car all the time but he backed off after seeing the receipt. Got rid of the car, no need for it and I wasn't going to make it into a show car.

There is another reason for Historic Tags.

The county has made it illegal to put up signs so people buy an old van type truck , put Historic tags on it and park them out in front of their business. Or they buy an old enclosed trailer and park that somewhere. I see the gun school trailers a lot.

That's why I won't put Historic or Street Rod tags on my '69 and '78 Broncos. I don't want to invite the attention of LE and I drive both regularly (or did...the '69 is currently being restored)..

I probably will put Historic tags on my '57 Jeep FC-150 when I get around to it.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

The fix for this is for the State to require all vehicles being registered to be inspected prior to registration.

I wonder if EV's will be around long enough to qualify for historical tags.
Nobody wastes money restoring 1990 cars now... The electrics will be even more pointless.

So I'm in L'town getting my DOT physical and there is a very clean 95 or 96 Bronco parked in front of the entrance. With Historic tags..LOL. Gals in the office said it belongs to a guy that works on the second floor. Obviously a daily driver.

So I reported him.
