The pictures make it easy to see what you've got. You have 3 HDMI ports but the DVD/VCR doesn't use them (apparently)so here's what to do:OK, I really, really appreciaqte all the help but you all have left me in the freakin dust.. The first picture is of the back of the DVD/VCR player. The second one is of the back of my TV. On the TV one you will see the HDMI cable hooked up and the 3 RCA cables on the side of the TV is for my Wii (which works fine) On my TV I can change from HDMI to Componant 1 or TV or AV1..Hope this explains it a little better. Just tell me what to plug where and what color cables to use. I have plenty cables.. Thanks
The pictures make it easy to see what you've got. You have 3 HDMI ports but the DVD/VCR doesn't use them (apparently)so here's what to do:
Take a 3 conductor patch cable with red, white and yellow plugs on them and connect one end of them vertically to the DVD/VCR RCA ports labled "Line out" (color for color of course).
Take the other end of that same cable and connect it to the TV on the bottom row of ports labled "Component 1". Red to red, white to white and the yellow lead goes all the way to the right port labled "video" with the yellow ring around it.
Put a DVD or VHS tape in and start it playing. Use the TV remote and select the correct "source" or "input" until you see the movie playing. If that doesn't work, you need a house call from a friend.
That did it... I now have DVD, VHS, COLOR, & SOUND. Thanks a bunch.. Now if Grandaughter comes here she can watch her VHS tapes, (kidsongs, old Disney tapes, etc, etc, etc) wifey can do her DVD stuff and I don't have to pitch this old stuff out in the yard. Really appreciate all the help from everyone. One freakin cable did it all..
