Tasered, bitten by police dog-wrong guy

Then may I suggest you read the link? :lmao:

I added my conclusion. With what little facts given in the link I believe both the kid and cop were wrong. With what little facts we have I am going to give the cop the benefit of the doubt since they have the burder of protecting the public. I have no doubt that if the cops hadn't responded like they did and this kid turned out to be the suspect and drew a gun and started shooting the place up killing the cops and innocent people you would be blaming the cop for not responding properly. It's a lose/lose.

First of all we haven't really been TOLD anything.

Okay, here is a conclusion. Derrick Morris was wearing a heavy coat, iPod plugged in to ears. Cops approach suspect and demand the kid to put his hands up and get on his knees. Derrick Morris stares at cops wondering what's going on. Keeps his hands in his pockets. Cops don't see iPod but see Derrick Morris ruffling around in his pocket (perhaps trying to shut his iPod off). Cops assume (because they have a report that perp was armed) Derrick Morris is reaching for his gun. Cops draw tasers (when they could have drawn their guns) and sick dog in order to avoid further violence and injury to others. Using a some restraint if you ask me.

You're not a cop are you Larry? Maybe you should spend a month in their shoes. You might learn something beyond your narrowly defined parameters of the constitution like being secure in your person (as in others around the scene that could get hurt or even killed). THAT is their responsibility. That is my conclusion.

There

may be a case for suggesting that some Delaware officers tend to tase too quickly.....

"The police vehicles screeched to a halt in front of the house shortly after 4:00 p.m. They ordered Lopez and her children away from Derek – who, predictably, had risen to his feet by this time – and then ordered him to remove his hands from his the pockets of his sweatshirt.

Less than a second later – according to several eyewitnesses at the scene – Derek was hit with a taser blast that knocked him sideways and sent him into convulsions. His right hand involuntarily shot out of its pocket, clenching spasmodically."

Well, I guess this proves it... The cop in the Derrick Morris case is guilty.

...mike.

A subject is expected to obey all commands of the 'authorities'.

A citizen has the right to be secure in their person and property and a right to a presumption of guilt, oops, innocence, until proven otherwise. As they had the wrong man, the cops had NO right to accost him or attempt to arrest him and certainly not to assault him.

So, it's a simple question of whom you see the burden placed on; the government or the citizen. I seem to have misplaced my copy of the constitution. You don't appear to have it.

I'm tiring of ill trained, undisciplined cops wrongly tazing people, shooting dogs, arresting little old ladies, yelling at people and threatening arrest and claiming extra judicial powers right up to the point where they see the camera and all around acting like we live in a police state. They stain the good officers and make an already tough job tougher needlessly so and they trample on the rights of the citizens whose laws they are sworn to protect and execute. The laws. Not the citizens of which they also are.

Let's see Larry... In this case the Police should walked up to him and tapped him on the shoulder... and said "excuse me sir but might you be the gentleman we are looking for who raped a young lady a short time ago at gunpoint. If so please come with us... Would you like to drive our police car":sarcasm:

You said you were tired of ill trained police... Good..

Well I am tired of left wing liberals who b@@ch and moan when the police make mistakes while trying to solve violent crimes and at the same time b@@ch when they cannot seem to solve violent crimes...

This kid should have gotten down or put his hands up when told to do so... I am fairly certain that the police felt that this high school kid (19 what's up with that btw) knew that they were there and he blew them off... You do that you get bit and tasered... I am good with that...

...predictable is soo like a jazz player. :lmao:

If he didn't have his little bug zapper maybe he would have thought about it a little more and maybe, just maybe this wouldn't have happened, this electrocuting and dog attack on an innocent citizen.

You seem convinced that this kid saw the officers giving commands, gesturing to him, saw the tazer come out, saw it pointed at him and saw the dog bearing it's teeth and still, STILL was like 'eff you'.

Yeah right.

As far as I know left wing liberals are for more police power so your statement dosen't really make sense. I think you are confusing their propensity to defend the minorities over all else with their hate for police. Liberals love police because they believe that the police are there to protect them, unfortunatley for them they are dead wrong.

Left wing liberals are not for more police power... They are for more government and there is a difference.. Of course that is just my humble opinion.

...a Giants fan, you are, of course, wrong. Liberals (socialists actually) want want? Gun control. They want cops to be the only ones armed. Now, why you suppose that is?

FWIW, the police work for the government who is supposed to work for you and me.
