...a Giants fan, you are, of course, wrong. Liberals (socialists actually) want want? Gun control. They want cops to be the only ones armed. Now, why you suppose that is?

FWIW, the police work for the government who is supposed to work for you and me.

Wanting gun control is not the same as wanting police with more power... It is however indicative of wanting more govenment control... (Big Government)...

As far as the government working for me and you... Yeah right... Not for a long time now... Our government works for whichever way the prevailing winds blow.. Just look at the debates on both sides lately..

...exhibiting a basic refusal to see who has the power and why with a disarmed citizenry. If you and I can't have guns, we are subjects. We are subject to criminals who have guns and we are subject to the state who has the cops who have guns.

Big government types NEED arms. How else they gonna get us to take off our Ipods? :lmao:

Hey Larry... Nice try... You turned a corner and did not use your blinker...

Gun control was not my point... That would be a different debate and I would probably be on the same side as you.

...step towards regaining government of the people, by the people and for the people is at least agreeing on what it is SUPPOSED to be.

Would you at least agree with that?

...predictable is soo like a jazz player. :lmao:

If he didn't have his little bug zapper maybe he would have thought about it a little more and maybe, just maybe this wouldn't have happened, this electrocuting and dog attack on an innocent citizen.

You seem convinced that this kid saw the officers giving commands, gesturing to him, saw the tazer come out, saw it pointed at him and saw the dog bearing it's teeth and still, STILL was like 'eff you'.

Yeah right.

I might be predictable, but my music isn't. You have to give me that.

You seem to be missing a key element in my argument. I'm not convinced of anything since there aren't enough facts for us to come to this conclusion. I gave you my "conclusion". I have no clue if it's factual. But things could have panned out that way.

I do believe we are seeing more about cops whipping out their tasers because 1) It gives the cops a sense of "non-lethal" (I know some cases haven't turned out that way) control of a suspect and 2) the media is reporting it. I'm just not prepared to believe that cops are running around with their hand at the ready to zap anyone they find. The VAST majority of the time (that the media doesn't even report) they (the cops) get it right. You seem only interested in exploiting when they get it wrong. I think that is unfair to those that are severely underpaid for protecting us.

If the Police Officer was shouting commands and not getting any response wouldn't it have been appropriate to have the trained dog bring him down and hold him so the officer could then approach him without running the risk of being attacked? I'm not a police officer and don't claim to know procedure but wouldn't that have given them a chance to see the IPOD and realize why he wasn't paying attention?

Karma Coward Alert!

Tasered, bitten by... 01-25-2008 09:38 AM The onus is not on the Kid to prove innocence, it is on the State (Government) to prove his guilt. Innocent until proven Guilty remember? The Police are to Protect and SERVE, the kid isnt a subject of the state, the state is a subject of the Kid

First of all, you post such a long reply in the Karma zone? Why don't you have the courage to just bring it out in the thread?

When the police are arresting someone on the streets there is no "innocent until proven guilty". That is for a court of law. The police have the responsibility to protect the public. By doing so, they serve us. That is how they serve us. If this kid had pulled a gun on the cops, it would have been within their authority, granted them by the state, to acted as judge, jury, and executioner on the spot. No “innocent until proven guilty”. Your analysis is wrong. It appears (and once again, none of us have enough facts) the kid did not cooperate with police orders. Once you decide not to obey police orders you DO become a subject of the state.

In your opinion, does a citizen EVER have the right to resist an officer or disobey an officers commands?
