FIGHT CLUB !
Only in the summer.Sometimes I just don't want to look like the ex biker trash I once was.
Winter no problem. I'm glad I wasn't stupid enough to get any on my face, neck or hands.

They call me ... Sarcasmo
.

However, I also didn't get some guy's name, a gang sign, drug reference or some other goofy thing that I'd grow out of.

A kid that works in my shop has a BIG AZZED pot leaf on his left forearm, :yay: I'm sure he's going to go far in life.

I got mine right before we left for SWA in December of '90. Three of us went to a shop on Court St in Jax to get our ink done and we had a blast that night. Mine really didn't have that much significance at the time but after our time in the desert it means a lot to me because it was one of the last times I saw my friend Chris truly happy before he committed suicide.

Growing up my mother told my oldest brother when he got a tatto that god wouldn't let him in heaven because he *tainted* his body, so i never got one. I have a friend who has her oldest childs name on her neck (ouch) she now has added 2 more babies i think i pissed her off when i asked where the hell is she going to put the other 2 kids names, she said she wasn't going to get thier names tattoed on her, and i made a comment about the other kids feeling left out ..she got mad ! I mean how would you feel if your mom only had 1 out of 3 names as a tatto????

I plan on having my tattoo lasered off someday. I hate it. Not enough to really obsess about, most of the time I forget I even have it, but I would prefer to be tattoo free.

I have this old ugly purple rose thing I got on my arm when I was 18. Now, almost 20 years later, I wish I hadn't gotten the stupid thing. I'll have it removed someday. My friends who have had tats lasered tell me the removal process isnt exactly pain free either and takes several return visits to get it all. :jameo:

I have one on my ankle and my only regret is that I think they could have done a better job. Most of the time, I forget I even have it.

I think that's the other key part... making sure you've got a great tattoo artist, because short of laser removal it's permanent.

When I get my next tattoo I'll be flying back to Minnesota to have my artist there do it. Every tattoo artist I've heard of here always comes with a "Well, they screwed this part up but other than that I love my tattoo!" It doesn't instill confidence in me to think there's a good shot they'll screw some part of my design up and I'm stuck with it for life. Those that haven't spoken about part of it being screwed up, I've not been impressed with the artwork and have had to bite my tongue so I didn't tell them how awful it really looks.

So I guess the two main rules to tattooing:
1: Make sure it means something to you and that it will still mean something to you in 20 years.
2: Make sure you check out the artist. They should all have portfolios and be able to give you references upon request.

I have four tats and no regrets....they all mean something to me and I too see it as artwork. I have a red rose b/c that's what my hunny makes sure I have all the time, I have a blue daisy with my hunny's name over it ( fourteen years and counting), I have the Mexican flag~~~for my heratige and then I have a cross for my father who, sadly, passed when he was very young. I have no regrets b/c I only let one artist do the work and he's really good. I don't plan on getting any more right now, but at some point, I will...already have them thought out! LOL!

So say you got a tattoo at some point in your life… Do you ever regret it and wish you didn’t?

I am ink-less and I feel like if I decide to get one I might regret it at some point. Seems like a pretty okay idea at this juncture… but 20 years from now.. ehhh.. Input? Experiences?

I have one tattoo that I got about 10 years ago. I'd always wanted one but when I got mine, I was going through some personal things and it was more on a whim. I liked it when I got it but it's a little larger than what I would have preferred. I went a few years later to have it removed....hurts like hell and expensive. I went for one treatment (should have had more), but that was it for me. Now it's extremely faded. At some point I may decide to have it redone but for now it's just faded blob. :lmao:

I have two, both very meaningful for me, and I'm sure I won't regret them even when I'm old and wrinkled. Besides, by the time I'm wrinkled aesthetic beauty won't be so important to me anymore anyway. I thought about each of them for years before I got them. I don't regret having done it; however, I do wish I had given more thought to their placement.

One tattoo is full of symbolic imagery with my 4 children's names on my right shoulderblade. When I wear a tanktop the strap cuts the image in half and with other clothing only part of the image is visible.

The other tattoo is St. Michael slaying Satan on my upper thigh. When I wear shorts most people only see Satan and not the Angel (which is still covered by my shorts) and I kind of get dirty looks because of it, I guess people think I'm a Satan worshiper or something. I just laugh to myself because they don't see the rest of it but I know it's there. Of course, it can be a hindrance when attending church social functions.

I have 8 of them! :jet: And I have no regrets about any of them. They all have meaning and were done at special times in my life. To meet me you would have no clue I had any tattoos unless I told you. I shock co-workers every time we start talking about tattoos and tell them I have that many. Thank god none of mine are in spots that will stretch or sag!! :lmao:

Technically I have 6....2 are "add-ons" to orginials

They are orginial designs of mine and all have special meaning to me....they have been stragically placed so that I am the only one that sees them(unless I wear a bathing suit or show them off)....I took a lot of time to make sure it was "right" and that I would be happy with it 20 years from now....I also took the time to investigate the guy that has done them

The best one of them all is the "Garfield and friends" on my right front hip that symbolizes my mutts....my mutts in turn, have gotten as their first one, the character that represents them on their calf

I have 4. I don't regret any of them. I am working on a 5th one right now. The other one I didn't put a whole lot of thought into then so this one I do.
