Turn and burn
We get their sooooo fast, we have to wait HOURS for any EMT's to come clean us off the street.
Pshaw. I've always beaten the EMTs to the scene of all my crashes.

Then we need to get more so at least someone can be there waiting.
Were they in the Black Widows?
One of the dumbest movies of ALL time. Ever.
I wasn't impressed either. It brought the chuckle a few times, but...meh.
It plays so much to the image as though we don't have enough of that. Guys thinking and feeling "I'm so kewl because I am wearing leather, a do rag and riding a loud bike! Fist in the wind!"
I mean, this is how hair bands happened, the image. Music is supposed to be about music and riding, HD, BMW, a Wing or a chopper, it's supposed to be about the ride.
That's why I love Yami's "I wanna ride' campaign; a bunch of different people, no particular image. Just "I wanna ride!"
Funny, isnt it. I own a car I love to drive, after almost six years and over 130,000 miles, it still makes me laugh like a maniac when I go max throttle, or hit a corner hard. Very fast, very comfortable, lots of creature comforts, heated seats, great stereo. So folks I work with dont get it that I rather ride my mundane motorcycle, even when it's cold outside. Just something about riding, which I do at a much more sedate pace than I drive, makes the discomfort worth it.

Some nice bits and pieces, but no real long good roads.
I've read a couple of good articles that go into the psychology a bit about why it is so much fun and so rewarding. The primary thing is the attention it commands and demands. We might 'drive' cars and 'ride' bikes but, we are far from 'along for the ride' when we ride and basically, that's all we are in a car. Radio, food and drink, do our make up, read, smoke, anything to break of the never ending monotony.
Outlaw automatic transmissions
Yup.
I can count the times, on one hand, where a ride started kinda blah and I ride at least a little nearly every day the last two years unless it's icy out. I can't count any that ended blah.
Jump on it, a sweet turn properly executed, working through traffic, being alone in the middle of nowhere, scraping some peg, if it were up to me, it would be a prerequisite to getting a car license; earning one for a bike.

I feel for you folks in SOMD because you don't have the roads the beauty of the region deserves. Up here, man, man o man...
I enjoy dodging road apples. We have that. I always though it was a damn shame we couldn't have at least a few stretches of road that wind along the water.
