Let's all share, anyone got a good one for a

Brown sugar ham glaze or a good baked corn recipe?

I actually made a turkey last sunday and now I'm thinking
about a ham for thanksgiving. Also, a good green bean recipe?

Corn pudding or corn casserole :yum:

Ingredients
1 (15 1/4-ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (14 3/4-ounce) can cream-style corn
1 (8-ounce) package corn muffin mix (recommended: Jiffy)
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
1 to 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a large bowl, stir together the 2 cans of corn, corn muffin mix, sour cream, and melted butter. Pour into a greased 9 by 13-inch casserole dish. Bake for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven and top with Cheddar. Return to oven for 5 to 10 minutes, or until cheese is melted. Let stand for at least 5 minutes and then serve warm.

Ass-hole
I wish I'd have just stuck with one of them, I'm always so scared of the possibility of fire from them. Went with this one

Amazon.com: Char-Broil The Big Easy Oil-Less Infrared Turkey Fryer: Patio, Lawn & Garden

And it's near impossible to get the bird out after you cook it. I get burnt every time.

Its completly closed, no oil flying out. I set mine on the kitchen counter and let it cook. Never had a problem other than the turkey sticking to the bottom of the basket once in a while.

The way I cook my greenbeans is not healthy, but what the hell, its only once a year. Fresh greenbeans snapped, cover with water, add salt & Pepper to taste, I also throw in a few potatoes. Boil until desired tenderness, (I like mine soft, no crunch when you bite into them). Drain, put back in pan and while they're still hot, add bacon grease and bacon bits if you have them. So good!!!! I know, I know, unhealty as all get out...but

Yup. Bought one of those for my former S.O. and the bird was done partway each time. If you cooked it any longer parts would have been overcooked...etc.

I would not recommend it to anybody.

I am looking forward to my family "Fest" and my BIL has the deep frying technique down to a science (way away from the house)

Lily’s Sweet Potato Casserole

This recipe has been a huge hit for almost 20 yrs., a different spin on the traditional candied sweet potato casserole.

Ingredients
4 cups sweet potato, cubed (some folks use canned sweet potatoes)
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons butter, softened-try to use butter instead of margarine.
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Put sweet potatoes in a medium saucepan with water to cover. Cook over medium high heat until tender; drain and mash.
In a large bowl, mix together the sweet potatoes, brown sugar, eggs, salt, butter, milk and vanilla extract. Mix with electric mixer until smooth. Transfer to a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Topping: In medium bowl, mix the brown sugar and flour. Cut in the butter until the mixture is coarse. Stir in the pecans. Sprinkle the mixture over the sweet potato mixture. Bake in the preheated oven 30 minutes, or until the topping is lightly brown.

:yay: I'm gonna try this recipe. I lost my recipe I had and 90% of sweet potato casserole recipes call for marshmallows :barf: :barf: :barf:

I do that with fresh Brussel sprouts, but just toss the crumbled bacon in with them. Cut them in half first.

I'll be making dinner for the parental units this year. I'm thinking of Cornish game hens split and grilled outside. Mom was recently diagnosed with extreme diabetes, so have to come up with alternatives to rice/taters/starches... That means no traditional string bean casserole either... mushroom soup is nothing but carbs...
