Yes. Sort of anticlimatic.

Matt Kenseth has no personality - wins the Daytona 500 and can't even throw him arms up in celebration.

Personally I think Matt is a very humble person...definitely not a big talker. I am sure he would have rather won without the rain, but it happens. Anyway I am glad he won.

Pace car

Was that the new Camaro? Was it just the paint scheme or is that car ugly?
I saw pictures of it in magazines and I thought it looked better than that.

It was a joke how this race ended. NASCAR knew that rain was coming, so why not start the race ahead of schedule but nooooo..I am a Sadler fan and am extermely disappointed that he did not end up winning this race. If only he could have hung on to the lead for a half of lap...What a story that would have been.

Would think it was a joke if Sadler was out front when the rain came and the race was called?

thats not what I was implying. What I'm trying to say is that if rain is coming/predicted for that day, NASCAR should either A)start the race early or B)postpone the race (when it rains) and re-start them at a later time or the following day. I do not think the races should be called due to weather. Fans don't pay for tickets to watch a rain being called due to inclement weather. They pay to watch a full race. Either way, this prevent alot of drivers that were coming up through the field to win the race. I would like to see cars race to the checkered. Even if Sadler won, I would have like'd him to cross the finish line at 180+.

imo, instead of earning the flag, you are given it.

Bogus Finish!

The biggest race of the year should not end due to a rainout. I believe Nascar should start speedweeks 1 week earlier, and have an "off" week between Daytona & California, that would give them time to complete the race on Monday, or Tuesday, and still have plenty of time to get back to the shops and turn the cars around for the upcoming event out west.

Was there a race yesterday? Actually, I switched between it, the hockey game and an afternoon nap, and the Caps and my nap were far more exciting. I'm happy Tony got a top ten in his brand new (backup) car though!!

The idea that every race would end without a rain out just wouldn't work. There are alot of variables in that statement. The fans may not have accommodations available to them. Many fans need to work on the next day. There would be extra cost involved for the TV crews, production and what would the viewer participation be? The race crews need to travel across country to get to California after they return to the shop to unload and reload. These are only a few items that come to mind.

Sure it would have been more enjoyable with a finish at 180mph, but sometime it just isn't going to happen unless they have rain tires and windshield wipers. And that would be fun...but that probably won't happen again.

Just my opinion.

NASCAR made the right call. You can't run rain tires on an oval... they're not built the same as a road course or public road.
