The Atheist and the bear

The big pic.

By the way, Jimmy, this thread was just a joke. That's all Post #1 is.
:coffee: Just because you see some one else's topic as a joke does not mean you have any right to come in and trash the thread and try to take over the thread and just change the subject.

You see it as a joke and you disrespect this thread and just about every other thread that you try to take over and it is cheap of you.

You could make your own topic thread and even make it all about me and then trash your own.

I certainly do not see a bear eating a person under the claim of Christianity as being a joke at all.

:coffee: That is correct if one is saying / praying "thanks for food" and not "bless the food" but I would still say even thanking for the food one might ask if it actually came provided by God or from another source.

Like as said before - if it be vile or taken by violence or sinful in other ways, because if it is unwholesome food then giving "thanks to God" would not be appropriate.

:duel:

Everything is a provision from God, every moment your allowed to survive, every breath, sight, sound, morsel of food and it can all be gone in a twinkling of an eye. There is no other source!

If your a meat, eater that animal was given as a provision of food.

Romans 14:14
I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
Acts 10:10-15
10 And he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
11 And saw heaven opened, and a certain vessel descending unto him, as it had been a great sheet knit at the four corners, and let down to the earth:
12 Wherein were all manner of fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.
13 And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat.
14 But Peter said, Not so, Master; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean.
15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What YHWH hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

1Corinthians 10:25 Eat anything that is sold in the meat market, without asking questions for conscience' sake

 See that last line gets to me,

in that the Apostle Paul is saying "do not ask and do not tell" so then the conscience can pretend to be innocent then they do not know that it was dead wrong to eat it and go ahead and chow down.

The Apostle Paul taught compromise (like Moses did) and it was not the will of God.

That text is saying not to ask questions so then they will not know the truth.

For me, I asked the questions as I seek out the truth and I put a stop to the wrong doing for myself.

I reccommend that people do ask questions and seek out the full truth and then the truth will set us all free.

James, You missed the point it was correct to eat. But if someone was week in their faith(typically meant non Christian) and didnt understand, than you would refrain because it was a stumblig block to them. You didnt want to be precieved as somehow endorsing the idol worship!
Peter made it clear.

All things are from God, JPC, including any food that might find it's way to our table through illicit means. Surely God will take all things perfectly into account on judgement day.
Also, I think the prayer is a request we DO expect to be answered, but not because we have some authority to "command" God, but because God has revealed His pure love for us. I am certain that God will do all things that will bring about His glory provided, even if those things don't seem to make sense to us.

I just have to know - did you really think that there was a talking bear, who's first words were to speak a thanks for the human he was about to eat?

Or, do you just like to spout BS?

Of course it has - welcome to another fun-filled day at the Forum! I personally thank God for more than the food whenever I say the blessing but I agree the food I am eating comes by way of God blessing us with jobs to buy food since neither my husband nor I have been out looting the stores or stealing any cattle lately!

Peter made it clear.
:coffee: Peter saw a vision and it said the people were clean and not the animals,

but the best point in that story is that Peter said he Peter NEVER EVER ate unclean foods, link HERE.

So that means that Peter who walked and talked with Jesus was NEVER EVER told to eat unclean food.

Therefore Jesus did not make the unclean food into being clean before He died and certainly did not do so in a vision to Peter years after Jesus was crucified.

And even if the bear was a Christian then it still had no business killing and eating the man just because he said grace first.
