Don't know about that, but dried jelly fish tentacles makes an excellent itching powder. :lmao:

 BK, I don't think they want you to go there! If you noticed, there were some pretty well-heeled folks speaking their mind at that rally; with that kind of money readibly available, I would imagine there were one or two SUVs in the parking garages.

Today I'm laughing at all the "Peace" protesters who got arrested for Disorderly Conduct!

 On Saturday, there were reported to have been upwards of 100,000 protesters with very few arrests. Yesterday, the news media estimated there were only about a 1,000 in attendance;, and many, many more arrested and taken into custody. Must have been that the "cream of the crop" did not stay their course for more than one day, only the riff-raff wanted to remain. Hope they get to stay a few months in DC's finest digs.

:razz2: Well, let's put it this way: If a fair amount of the protesters were incarcerated together yesterday as reported, they should all have something in "common", and a conversation starter should not have been a problem.

I really have to laugh at those "Blood for Oil" folks. Don't they ever stop to think that if the US genuinely wanted someone's oil there would have been no stopping us? We wouldn't have to rely on pretexts to war, we could just go in, invade, and take what we want. Same for Israel. The Jews could take over any Arab country they want, anytime they want. If we really wanted someone's oil we would already have it.

Maybe I just tuned in at the wrong times, but it seemed that every time I watched some of the protests it was just Blacks complaigning about not getting one thing or another.

This time, it's blood for oil. Back in the days of WW2, it was widely said that people were going to war for General Motors and Ford, who profited from the war, built materials for Nazi Germany prior to the war and American bombers avoided bombing their facilities in Europe. So, wasn't the war ALL about making money for them? Absurd - but people can always hatch something.

The fact is, there's little chance the US will be able to gain monetarily from this - they may have a lot of oil, but production is nearly zero, so it would be years to get any decent access to the oil. We do however have a madman with an arsenal and making threats to the US, and demonstrated the will to use it on anyone. Even if he could NOT threaten the US, he may have the ability to blackmail the Middle East, and has done so in the past. Furthermore, his actions in this matter are a violation of agreements he's already made.

If Castro had a stockpile of nukes, wouldn't we stop him? If Qadafy had nukes, wouldn't we stop him? If Arafat had a nuke, wouldn't we stop him?

I just wish more Pro-War folks would organize and protest. It's always the vocal minority that is heard and paid attention to due to their time and effort put into marching on Washington. It would be nice to balance out these idiots, that do nothing but provide propaganda pieces for our enemies. :burning:

That would be sweet. Get a bunch of SUV drivin', shotgun totin', no necked, pinhead white boys up on a stage spouting their racist/macho war mongering bile. We could wake up the silent majority in no time! Talk about comparisons to Hitler!

Spare me your stereotypes, Maynard. Christy and I look like a pair of soccer Moms and we're all for promoting world peace by ousting the dictators and the real warmongers.

Oh, I thought that's what this thread was. You're not playing fair, acting like you want to get all objective and sh*t all of the sudden.

"weeny yellow-backs

hand-holding candle-burning-vigil chanting leftists

Green peace and save the whales and environmentalists

illogical, liberal, whiney crap.

namby-pamby protesters"

We were describing characteristics and opinion, not physical appearance. If we had said, "Long-haired hippie freaks who haven't bathed in days, driving their mopeds and wearing tie-dyed t-shirts" THEN you could say we were stereotyping.

Merely pointing out that appearances can be deceiving.

I'm on your side Vrai, but I think his point is well made this time. If we can spout, we gotta let him spout.

Yikes, this name calling is tough. I had no idea there were so many rules.

Again, Maynard: oh, please. We call you names, you tell us why we're wrong in our characterization. You call us names, we tell you why you're characterization is wrong.

But, now that I think about it, you've never said that the peace protestors AREN'T a bunch of

1. weeny yellow-backs

2. hand-holding candle-burning-vigil chanting leftists

3. Green peace and save the whales and environmentalists

4. illogical, liberal, whiney crap.

5. namby-pamby protesters

Besides, #2 and #3 aren't name calling because they're true. Unless you DON'T think that the protestors are holding hands, burning candles and chanting and AREN'T leftists and environmentalists.
