Stupid freedom of the press! It's un-American!!!

If only we lived in a society where the only news we get is filtered through government censors. That would be great! Some kind of ministry...some agency that will ensure we only learn what the govenrment wants us to learn. A system where reporters would be jailed for reporting the truth...as opposed to the sanitized "truth", which is all we really need to know.

This whole "reporting of facts" really needs to end.

Friendly fire happens, it being reported isn't the issue, the fact of the video being shown on TV is tasteless.

It's also a fact that the general media is heavily slanted towards the liberal side of life.

The side that doens't want its country's laws based on what Jesus would do. The side that doesn't want corporations going to other countries and destroying their culture and people. I don't think the video shows anything "bad", except for the fact that it occured in the first place. It's obvious the pilots thought they were firing on enemy. At least, after the initial hesitation.

The side that want's me to pay someone's welfare because they are too lazy to get a job, the side that want's me to pull money out of my pocket to pay for someone's healthcare becuase they cannot get thier priorities straight. Saddam was executed for crimes against humanity and the world will probably be a better place because of it, but there is really no good reason to air it. The same should be said over this video.

They want the government to control or be involved in every aspect of your life.. Health care.. schooling.. parenting.. housing.. Or is it they want the government to control everyone else's life?

I really don't see what all your problems are. The video seems to confirm that the pilot follow required procedures and felt remorse when he found out a mistake was made. Also, the video doesn’t seem to contain anything sensitive enough to require classification, so why exactly do you feel this needs to be hidden from the public?

It's not as if you can see anything graphic in the video. To me, this is similar to watching tapes of the space shuttle explosions...or the planes going into the Towers on 9/11. It shows what happened. It isn't always "nice", but it puts the events into context. No one's going to force anybody to click the link...nobody's forced to watch.

The video actually helps to show the situation from the pilot's perspective. I feel terrible for them.

I don't bring up my views my nephew. He's in a transportation group with the Marines in Okinawa. He joined the USMC straight out of high school, still wet behind the ears and thought the world stopped at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. He graduated boot camp, spent about a month in Okinawa, then was sent to Iraq for a year. He's been back in Okinawa for 6 months and is about to go back to Iraq for another year. When I speak to him, I mostly try to talk about home and offer him professional advice as an E7 to an E2. My own political views would never stop me from doing my job and I never discuss politics (or religion ) while in uniform. I swore an oath to obey orders and I will. I can't pick and choose what to follow, and I've taken many orders that I thought were absolutely asinine over the years and run with them. It's the nature of the business.

My grandfather is an Army vet who fought in WWII. He thinks the sun rises and falls on Bush and thinks everything is going just swimmingly in Iraq. Neither my parents, nor my brother, are very well informed politically, although my parents are against the war effort and don't think too much of our current president. They are not liberal, per se. In fact, I think my dad would call himself a Republican if pressed. I also have a son in the Air Force, stationed in Colorado. I pray that's where he'll stay until this thing is over.

Believe it or not things go wrong when you're killing innocent civilians in a conflict started by a monkey faced no brain turd. Do us all a favor and follow the lead of the two girls found on Rt. 9 in their vehicle. The world will be a much better place and it will give the media a story to cover.
