the Ruddy Duck

Yes I'm Ruddy

Here Carlos!!!

Yes, the Hotel and Ruddy are part of the same family.
I built the Hilton Garden and have a great relationship with Allen the GM and his wonderful staff!!! We are there every day interviewing and prepping the food that will make Rudy Duck one of a kind.
We are going through a lot right now, but if we can get everything straight by Friday we are starting to brew on Saturday. YES!!! at last
We will start with traditional English pale ale, with English and German grains and a great British yeast strain. Then we'll brew a Kolsch style or golden ale, clear crisp very refreshing light gold ale with a lot of character. Third batch will be Belgium style wheat, imported yeast and the best wheat beer Jonathan, the brewer, has ever made. From there "You name it" we can make any style of beer you want.
The food... Wait to taste Jay's and Marlin's creations and for Sunday brunch an authentic Southern cuisine with grits, eggs, shrimp, bacon stuffed jalapenos, breads, and lots more.

We are getting ready to open in about three weeks. We will let you know the exact date very soon.
Me and my partner Michael Kelley are looking forward to meeting you very soon.

At what temprature will you serve your beer? Seeing how you are brewing beer from over yonder, cross the pond, will you serve it at just below room temp like they do or will it be nice and cold? I like mine cold...in a frosty glass if you please. TYVM. :buddies:

Extremely Disappointed in Delay of opening now...

Was told that the opening is again delayed until June 8.... We had a big group coming in to town for a June 6 wedding and we had been hyping up the area with a new microbrewery ...

Really disappointed.

Ditto. I was psyched a year ago but now I've given up on the place. :boo:
When they do open, the beer better kick ass.

I started and finished a 298,000 sq. ft. commercial building in the time it's taken them to build this little place and they're still not done. :lmao:

I don't think all of the delays are because of them. I was told that some of the delays are because of the county. No one has ever opened up a brewery in Calvert County, yet alone somd, so they were not sure on codes, regulations, etc. I did hear that this week they are doing private servings of food for practice and training purposes.

Ruddy Duck is getting ready to Open!!!

Hello!!!

Ruddy Duck is getting ready to open!!!

I know, lot's of anxiety and rumors are going around...

But we are getting closer, and when you see it you will realize why it took so long. Yes some economy factors and some complications in opening a new brewery, but we are not cutting any corners.

Three beers are now being brewed. We have had some problems getting started...

The food is looking great!!!

Almost 60 phenomenal employees are being trained.

We will try to go very slowly with the opening so we can train and learn from our own mistakes.

In two weeks from now we are going to be Ruddy to Rock!!!

Are U Ruddy???

Two weeks means two months........

With all that, two months sounds about right.

Been ready, lost interest, but will still go whenever it opens.

:yeahthat: but I'll probably wait a while before visiting. I really don't like the lines and waiting for any new place that opens around here. I'll give the dust time to settle.

I was there last week working.

They had some private functions this weekend and planned on opening to the public today. I think the hopes were to work out any kinks in time for the weekend.

Freaking place is AWESOME inside. They did a great job.
