ABC legal analyst Sunny Hostin said Monday on ABC’s “The View” that eclipses, earthquakes and cicadas could “lead one to believe” that “climate change exists.”

"All those things together would maybe lead one to believe that either climate change exists or something is really going on," she said Monday.
A 4.8-magnitude earthquake was felt across New York and New Jersey on Friday; on Monday, the highly anticipated solar eclipse swept across the continental U.S.
Hostin also claimed that her studio makeup artist "put on her coat" and "ran down the hallway" during the earthquake, saying, "Jesus is coming" and "The rapture is here."

The View Thinks Climate Change Caused The Eclipse
I’m continually amazed at how educated people can demonstrate seriously shocking ignorance on these issues (cue Hemi to make a snarky remark and then just disappear).
I suppose if you’ve spent your life on the West Coast or other parts of the nation where cicadas don’t emerge every 17 years, you COULD be dumb enough to think their emergence is a rare, unpredictable apocalyptic event - instead of a completely cyclical thing so many of us see often. Like the sun rising.
I can believe that someone who hasn’t read a damned thing on the subject might think a presumably unprecedented event might have been triggered by climate change even though NO ONE in authority claims that.
But - EARTHQUAKES? Admittedly we HAVE unwittingly created “quakes” by messing around with ground aquifers and mining, but those aren’t earthquakes.
A solar eclipse? How does anyone think that has anything to do with climate change?
I do get ONE point mentioned as a sort of joke - the seeming abundance of these sorts of phenomena MIGHT trigger the uninformed to think something never seen before is happening. But it’s not.
To add to all this - there are those who believe when world calamities pile up like this, it means the world is coming to an end. Nonsense. For one, a simple observation of history shows much more dire clusters of events have occurred and - hey, still here.
But for another - and this is what gets me for those anticipating the Rapture and trying to spew out warnings that the end is coming - Jesus himself said - even HE doesn’t know when it’s coming. He doesn’t tell his followers to predict the end - he just says BE READY. That’s all. Just live your life always ready. Not hard.
