Staten Island bakery customers batter Whoopi Goldberg for dubious claim she wasn’t served over liberal views: ‘Bulls–t’
New Yorkers aren’t letting Whoopi Goldberg’s sourpuss spoil their favorite spot for sweet treats, after she put a local bakery on blast on national TV, alleging they refused to serve her because of her lefty political beliefs.
“I think it’s ridiculous. Why would she come all the way to Staten Island for her cupcake? To make an issue? They’ve been here forever,” Deborah Bernaz, 68, said of the comic’s claims against the beloved 145-year old Holtermann’s Bakery on Staten Island.
“I don’t think it has anything to do with politics. They’re a little Staten Island bakery. I think it’s bulls–t what she’s saying. Leave politics out of the bakery,”
The actress and “The View” co-host went into full victim mode on Wednesday’s broadcast, grousing that Holtermann’s wouldn’t sell her the Charlotte Russe desserts she wanted to celebrate her 68th birthday on the show because of her “politics.”
“Now, I should tell you, Charlotte Russe has no political leanings, and the place that made these refused to make them for me,” Goldberg said, prompting aghast reactions from the audience and co-hosts.
“They said that their ovens had gone down, all kinds of stuff, but folks went and got them anyway, which is why I’m not telling you who made them.”
“They did not like my politics,” she said without evidence.
Nah. Whoopi is so insulated in her echo chamber, nothing will happen to her. She'll be back on The View Monday.
Bring in a real conservative and possibly a libertarian to balance it out.

‘Overwhelmed by Support’: NYC Bakery Sells Out After Being Slammed by Whoopi Goldberg
“My birthday dessert today was one of my mom’s favorites from when she was a kid, she talked about these all the time, they’re called Charlotte Russe. It’s a sponge cake with whipped cream and a cherry on top. I should tell you, Charlotte Russe has no political leanings. The place that made these refused to make them for me,” the co-host said during last Wednesday’s episode.
Cast member Sarah Hines then spit out her mouthful of the cake, but Goldberg said “no” and went on to explain further.
“They said that their ovens had gone down, but folks went and got them anyway, which is why I’m not telling you who made them,” she said.
“It’s not… because I’m a woman, but perhaps they did not like my politics,” Goldberg claimed. “But, that’s okay, because you know what, listen, this is my mother’s celebration. Pick these up and celebrate with me and my mom. Thank you everyone for celebrating my birthday today.”
Even though she did not call the business out by name, viewers of the show quickly figured out the desserts came from Holtermann’s — Staten Island’s oldest family-owned bakery.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Jill Holtermann confirmed that Goldberg placed an order about two weeks ago, but denied that it was refused over her politics.
“They’d asked us and we were having trouble with our boilers,” the bakery owner said, explaining that she “didn’t want to make a commitment that I can’t carry through.”
However, she was able to make 50 of the Charlotte Russe desserts that were featured on the View, and added that none of her employees were aware of the political views of those who picked up the order.
“We didn’t know what was going on until somebody called us from Ohio” on Thursday, the bakery owner explained, “and he said, ‘Y’know, there’s this thing with Whoopi Goldberg and the Charlotte Russe cups,” she said, “and I didn’t know what he was talking about.”
Since the drama, Holtermann’s has been completely inundated with orders.

Hostin: They discussed the fact that once [Gaetz] finds out that she's 17, he stops having s*x with her.
Hostin 3 min later: Matt Gaetz has long denied all allegations, calling the claims, quote, invented and saying in a statement to ABC news that this false smear following a three year criminal investigation should be viewed with great skepticism that DOJ investigation was closed with no charges being brought.
The Times of India ran another back-walking story yesterday, headlined “Matt Gaetz: Sunny Hostin reads Matt Gaetz's legal note on 'The View' amid allegations.” This might set the record for the fastest walkback ever. Monday’s far-left The View included a short segment where Sonny Hostin ranted about Trump’s nomination of Florida Representative Matt Gaetz for Attorney General. Hostin exclaimed in outrage, “how could you nominate someone who had sex with a 17-year-old … (and) once he found out she was 17, he stopped having sex with her??”

A three-minute commercial break followed. Then, the very next heartwarming segment began with Whoopi Goldberg, who started the fun off by cheerily saying, “Sonny! You have a legal note.” Sonny Hostin, with the blood drained so far out of her face she almost changed races, and with the voice of a grown woman forced to utter something so appalling that she wished she had the courage to quit instead, answered, “I do have a legal note, thank you Whoopi,” in a tone that was clearly anything but thankful.
Just look at that face. That face is the reverse-opposite of “Sunny.”
A lot must have happened over that short three-minute commercial break. Someone explained to the View’s harridans they crossed the actionable-defamation line; they discussed handling the ‘legal note’ in the next segment; somebody rapidly drafted a statement for Hostin to read; and Hostin herself, fuming, must have practiced at least once.
To say ABC’s lawyers are on a hair-trigger is a bit of an understatement. Another way to view what happened is the View ladies are now on a very short leash, a leash against which Sonny Hostin is obviously straining, but a leash that quickly brought her to heel.
Between Butler County’s law-defying Commission Chair, and not-so-Sonny on the View, that makes two high-profile leftie walkbacks in one week. What may we thank for this irresistable pressure against loony leftwing chatter? I humbly suggest to you the answer is: us, the people, exercising our free speech on Twitter.
Thanks to the First Amendment and Twitter’s disintermediation of mainstream news, the cycle time from babble to walkback is now measured in minutes. Or, maybe I’ve missed something. What do you think explains this wonderful development?

We almost -- almost, mind you -- feel a little sorry for the brain-trust women at The View. We knew long ago that Donald Trump broke them all. But after Trump resoundingly won re-election, the brake lines have been fully severed on their locomotive of batpoop crazy.
In the past few days, the ex-Twitter account known as Sunny Hostin had to read a legal correction on air because she had so blatantly and falsely defamed Matt Gaetz in a previous screed. Meanwhile, Whoopi Goldberg is also facing a lawsuit for similarly defaming a New York bakery, claiming they didn't serve her because of her politics (actually, the bakery's boiler had broken down).
To top it all off, new reports indicate that ABC News is close to breaking ties with the show altogether. (The fact that the program was ever associated with ABC News in the first place is a damning indictment of the network all by itself.)
Rough times, indeed.
With this writing on the wall, sane people might decide that it might be time for a course correction. But the ladies of The View left sane behind a long time ago.
For Goldberg, it's full-on tinfoil hat time. Yesterday, she came out with a new banger: J.D. Vance isn't the Vice President-elect AT ALL. Instead, it's the left's new favorite boogeyman, Elon Musk.

We honestly don't know what it'll take for ABC to pull the plug on 'The View' -- the screeching, hysterical, dishonest harpies who sit on the panel are as unlikable as dysentery and they do nothing but lie in service of the Democratic Party.
I get it, ladies, I really do. You hate Donald Trump. But spouting your Trump Derangement Syndrome nonsense on national television is not a substitute for a personality.
And we're all getting tired of it. Even Cenk Uygur -- hardly a conservative -- is telling you to knock it off.
But you don't seem to learn, do you? Just yesterday, Sunny Hostin looked like she sucked on a lemon as she issued a legal note after accusing Matt Gaetz of having sex with a minor (we told you about that here).
Yet here she is, having to issue another legal note, so ABC doesn't get sued into oblivion:
Gee, I don't know, maybe if you weren't such blatantly partisan hacks, you wouldn't have to issue corrections.
That's what 'The View' does best though: partisan hackery. In the days after the election, Sunny doubled down on calling voters racist, sexist, and homophobic. This ignores the fact the same voters twice elected Barack Obama president and that Hillary Clinton got more votes than Donald Trump (but not in the Electoral College, the only ones that matter).
Joy Behar said she'd rather die than receive CPR from a Trump supporter, because that's the reaction of a sane and mature person when their preferred candidate loses an election.
Whoopi Goldberg slandered the owners of a Staten Island bakery, claiming the owners wouldn't make her birthday cupcakes because of her political views. The reality was the bakery's boiler was malfunctioning and she couldn't fill any orders.
While Joy and Whoopi are idiots, they're also comedians and actresses. Sunny Hostin has a legal background. You would think -- you would think -- she would know better. That she would know making such claims about Matt Gaetz and Peter Hegseth would put the show (which is classified as 'news' under ABC's umbrella, but more on that in a second) in legal hot water.
But advancing her political agenda is more important than even the most basic tenets of journalism and law.
Weirdly enough, 'The View' has higher ratings than I expected. I honestly don't know anyone who watches the program, but I have seen it on televisions in doctor waiting rooms, my nail salon, my automotive shop (where customers can access the remote, so click). But an actual audience? The fact they're making those numbers surprises me. But even those number aren't that high -- 2.5 million viewers. I know YouTubers with higher subscriber counts.
Enough with the derangement and lies ... these cows need to be put on a short leash
