I got the Dare also. Its the best phone ive owned to date.
The camera is GREAT and texting is real easy.
I also have the 80 buck plan so I get internet and VZ navigator and all that for free.
And the best thing is charging for me. I can charge my Dare on a Sunday to "start" the week and by next Sunday im still at 2 or 1 bar out of 4.
My old KRZR phone was HORRID on battery life and dropping calls.
I think someone asked if you can hit buttons with your face when your talking? The answer is no. It has a proximity sensor that knows to shut off the screen when near to your face.

Floyd, do you have the latest firmware? If not, you should. Its version 5, and you cant download it, you have to go into the store. Makes the touchscreen even more accurate, and helps battery life.
I was quite happy with both before, but the improvement is noticeable.

Nope I got VX970V03 so it looks like im behind on my updates lol.
Im assuming the Verizon store near Quiznos can help me with an update?

Not sure if this is a dumb question or not, but if you buy a new phone, do they always or usually have the upgraded software...is that taken care of by the technician after the box is opened...or does it just need to be taken in at your convenience?
I just want to know for future reference, but I'd assume that if a new software comes out, Verizon doesn't go through their stock of (example) gen 1 phones and upgrade them...or do they?

Well, this AM finally comfirmed my Dares battery was going. Had charged it Monday over night from one bar, only charged to three bars over nine hours. I let it completely discharge, then gave a full 10 hours. After which it was back to four. That was Thurs night.
This AM, only one bar, and normally, with only a few calls, it lasts much longer. Even a lot of calls normally wouldnt drop charge like that. Went to Verizon, they verify warranty status, and pop a new battery in. Much better.
